Whereas the latter one is still a good thing, isn't it?

Good for me or good for them?

I wold say it's good for both. Getting a "gg" or requested to share some experience shows that they kind of respect your performance. That's actually better as insults you can usually see. If you give them some MU advices, it's good for them because they might learn something to get better, although it actually depends if they take critics and advices serious.

I think for people it's a feeling of approach-ability. Not everyone is going to ask a (seemingly) well known player for advice or help, there's the intimidation or maybe even pride factor there.

An unknown player on the other hand, you know nothing about them and would feel more comfortable asking them for help or advice as well, it's someone out of the woodwork.

The question is if the person Brute is referring to was aware that he played the -at least at FSD- well known Brute.

As far as I know, Brute's psn-id is quite different from his username here.

The rank may also intimidate people to ask for advice.

winstreak also can intimidate.
it reminds me of someone i played against . I know he was good player of genfu, he came in my lobby with a 100 winstreak.

i was just pleased to play against him but i didn't ask for advice, fearing that i would ask some stupid questions for him. I know it's stupid not to ask for MU advice because "stupid is as stupid does".

But i couldn't do it. I think that could be the same if i 'm to play an hayabusa that izunabrutalise me everywhere, i would feel soo weak, that i wouldn't say anything that "gg"

Perhaps I was vague on what's happening. When they ask me for the MU advice, they come ask ME. Not the anon account that just beat them. They don't say a word to them. They go back to my regular online handles or come onto FSD or FB and ask ME for advice after loosing to someone that they believed to be a random.

I'm here any time they need me. People know I'm quite approachable. They just don't ask until they feel like a random bested them with my character. I guess.

PS: I love the "seemingly" qualifier. :D

Mhm ... quite understandable for me because I would also prefer asking someone I know instead of someone where I do not even know how he's going to answer. Also, a longer conversation on the game or system chat with PS3 input devices can be a very roundabout way, except you have such kind of a special keyboard.

No no, I mean that I understand perfectly fine. What I don't understand is why they don't ask me for MU insight right after I shut them out. But then when a perceived random does the EXACT same thing, then all the sudden they come clambering for advice.
