I'm a ruby, going for sapphire now. I understand getting demoted. I lose to crappy low ranks all the time because they mash out of EVERYTHING. It's frustrating.

Thank you again, lol. I find people by just searching on the broadest settings. Any connection, any region, F-Diamond, and allow the last player fought. It's actually pretty lively, at least for me. Easy way to rank up? Beat up the crappy boosters. Lol.
