Love the honesty, and the truth. The play wasn't great either, lack of general punishment and fundamentals make matches in this game difficult to watch. Felt like I was watching online matches.
I understand that these guys wanted to prove a point that you don't need Christie/Helena/whatever to win a tournament, but I wanted to watch high level play. Grand finals felt like 2 friends playing casuals.
I didn't see much that made either standout and I didn't see a lot of utilization either character strengths. Just saw Bladez and Kwiggles playing pretty well because they're just good players.
It felt like this because there was not that much hype from the comentators and the audience. Lack of throw punishment or not, overall play was still good. Don't forget people are also supposed to have fun at a tournament.
No one said you're not supposed to have fun, lol. Lack of punishment and fundamentals does not make play good overall, it was decent. It was only ever really good until the obvious of certain players played.
And for the record, Eliot isn't a weak character, it's just that too many people aren't utilizing him correct (same with Kokoro) or refuse to get better at the game.
If people are having fun, they usually smile, laught and have a friendly talk. And if they think they'll have fun with playing a Lisa, a Jacky or an Eliot, then they can do so. That does not mean it's like someone is playing casuals.
And if someone is taking part at his first tournament, lack of fundamentals and missed throw punishment due to nerves is a normal thing, so don't expect 100% solid play in every match and be rather grateful that some new players tried their best instead of befing around how boring it was.
I'm not even referring to any of the new players, I encouraged the new players yesterday after top 16 was over. You're under the assumption people are bashing people, lol.
I am referring to the high level players who have been playing the game for since Vanilla still lacking fundamentals and punishment. You're not seeing the point to Corza's status and you're not seeing the point were making.
