Tekken is the greatest 3D fighting game. Virtua Fighter is probably the most solid, but Tekken has everything I ever wanted in a game. You know, except for DOA characters.
Yes, is by far the best 3D FG there is, but I just fear that the DOA characters would be hard as FUQ to incorporate in to its engine. Because there are little to no stuns in it, and is a combo based game. If Zack's 9K launches really high in it, I'm sold.
The stun system is just a frustrating mess, and moves don't seem to matter at all if they land unless they cause a stun. If I land a 5P, and I'm at -5, then something is wrong. Then there's the wakeup game. Sure these dead horses have been beaten to death, but there's a good reason for that: they're not good.
I'm not saying the people who are good at the game are ass at any other fighter, like MOST Fighting game players would say, but I mean hell, the game follows it's own rules, no one else's, not even it's own, and it pisses me off. I just want a solid fighting game experience, and DOA just doesn't offer that.
-5 is safe though.
How can a game with its own rules not follow them? Elaborate?
Please explain to me what a solid fg experience is?
DOA has the easiest wake-up game for a 3D fighter. EVER. The wake-up kicks just need to be less safe.
The stun system can be annoying, but you can hold, or SE to get out of them. Either you're not holding "correctly" or you're doing them right, but ONLINE they are missing.
You are free to not like a game, but using points like it doesn't follow another game's rules is a tad strange. I honestly don't think that I would play DOA if it played like Tekken. That's what Tekken is for.
Also, DOA5 is solid, go into the lab for an hour or two and you'll see lol. It's just scrubs online who fuck shit up.
Scrubs in general. But there are also more solid games than DOA, obviously, and DOA was made to be user friendly (Or noob) which is why it plays like a watered down VF.
People say DOA is a mashy stunfest, but don't you think low/mid-level Tekken is just a juggle fest, with people trying to get that bound combo? I hate bounds, what do you think about them?
Tekken is a great game, but online, the rules have been completely breached. The spacing, the pokes, the mix-ups have been destroyed by something that is called "The Damn Hop Kick", which started as a trend in Tekken 6 and is abused by a lot of players.
This is like DOA. The fundamentals get breached at low-level. The stuff that I said goes out the window and all that matters is: "Better try to get my CB setup ready, hehe!"
^ This x100. There's a reason I prefer DOA, VF & SC.
There's nothing wrong with DOA's stun system if you study the frames along with SE. It's a lot deeper than you think. The wake-up game could use a little tweaking but it's still is workable. The problem you're having is that you're not properly learning DOA's system and are blaming the mechanics on your frustration.
Also, and this is for everyone who reads this. Never Ever base your opinion of DOA5 on Online play. It's not the same game and is completely illegitmate.
2D, I understand, but Tekken? With DOA characters? Nahhhhhhh bruh.
