I'm a firm believer that other people don't make your life bad; your reaction to them does. If you really want to have a positive outlook on life you have to change yourself, not excise parts of your current life. My favorite joke that's similarly themed: "Your phone doesn't suck, your life around the phone sucks." Louis C.K. is a genius.

Please don't... Try to retain motivation as to why you liked the game in the first place. Playing FG's such as DOA offers a lot of intrinsic value to play on a competitive stand point. You could also be motivated because you like a specific character or something related to the aesthetics. Be the guy who just enjoys FG's peacefully - block out the negative aspects as you play on

If you are not overly pleased with FGC, you can still play the game for your own enjoyment, retaining "neutrality" towards the FGC while you simply get better overtime. Will power and motivation can take people a long way as they try make progress. Progression should be recurring element, even it's a game.
