@Force_of_Nature, please don't throw shade at Tekken. As a primarily 3D fighter, Tekken is the most popular fighting game based on sales. It is a 3D fighter. I love all 3D fighters, so I support Tekken 7 being there, since 3D didn't fully get the shaft.
Tekken is the most "ugh" of the 4 main 3D fighters though. It pretty much feels like a 2D fighter in a 3D realm. Also, the way how it gets into EVO is annoying as well.
@Force_of_Nature I've got to agree with @Jyakotu . Tekken is legit. I'm happy for Harada. He deserves the shine. I think Melee and P4AU are wastes of slots though.
@Force_of_Nature, Tekken has gotten stale, but it is still a fun game to play and watch competitively. High level Tekken play is legit and I am glad that we get to see more of Tekken 7. Logically, DOA5LR should have been there, but at the end of the day, it is a numbers game.
My comment was at BloodBurger, as for Tekken, I find there's a little too much focus around hitting yolo launchers into big-ass juggles. It gets boring to watch after a while.
@Force_of_Nature, I definitely agree. Even getting back into Tekken Tag 2, I'm so focused on trying to launch and use Tag Assaults. Even though DOA has juggles, you can technically win without them and that's not the sole focus in combat.
I don't know @Jyakotu . In DOA's case I'm not sure its a numbers game. I'm positive this community could put together number equal to or greater than what P4AU is going to do.
The main reason why I like 3D fighters is how the combat tends to emphasize things more than just straight-up combos or juggles. Tekken emphasizes the aspects I like about 3D fighters the least.
@BloodBurger, I truly feel that if Last Round made the lineup, I know the community would have had a strong showing. @Force_of_Nature, I can see where you're coming from. Tekken isn't for everyone and I hope that Tekken 7 can make the series fun again. Reducing Bound was a good start, but the focus is still juggling.
The Capcom community tends to hate DOA. Even if the game had a strong community (and 5U did ok at US Majors last year), EVO reps would still turn it down.
