It was pretty good until it hit the ending. Although, you have to give it credit. Games these days have a tendency to make games with both a bad story and a bad ending..but MKX managed to keep a good story with the exception of the ending.

The ending was cliche but that's not always a bad thing tbh, the story transitioned well and made sense which is all that mattered. Tbh, nobody excepts a good story from fighting games anymore which is why it's always a surprise when it's good lol

Cliche' is definitely there, but what made it bad was that they didn't explain how Cassie defeated Corrupted Shinnok. The power difference between them is vastly huge. Cassie just went determination to defeat someone who slapped himself with an ancient amulet sealed by the elder gods and won?
DestructionBomb
DestructionBomb
It would of made more sense if Raiden poured his power into her, or the "best" possible obvious way to done it is by having the other 3 (Jacquies, Takeda & Kung Jin) finish the battle they were previously in and help Cassie defeat Shinnok. That would of been much more corrected since it's 4 vs 1.
DestructionBomb
DestructionBomb
To make it more simplied, Cassie didn't have the strength to beat Corrupted Shinnok but she would of definitely beat him if the others helped her, but Ed Boon pretty much just said "k thx bai, play online now."

Y'all are nuts. Ending was boss.

Come now Brute, I will admit this way was much better than the previous ones and instead of the obvious Raiden taking it. But if I had to pick one between the two, I rather pick none and make it a stalemate to make them keep asking for more blindlessly.

well the explanation was cassie was bred to be a warrior for the gods and she ended up getting that enhanced power when johnny was gonna die. Eh, the ending was cliche it wasn't bad but it was still a cliche.

It says on Nether Realm's page that Cassie Cage has received special training from her mother while inheriting her father's superhuman abilities, however, Johnny Cage is not exactly super powerful, he's not magic. She follows the same principle as him.
DestructionBomb
DestructionBomb
Johnny Cage is basically a natural regular EarthRealm Warrior. Cassie in a general sense is an upcoming character that will eventually be "stronger" than Johnny Cage..but the power gap and barrier will stop her there compared to superpowered warriors. I'll put it like this:
DestructionBomb
DestructionBomb
C - Johnny Cage, Sonya, Cassie, Jacquies (Every other human)

C+ - Liu Kang, Kung Lao (Every other human who practiced for Kombat and Magic, this is the highest Cassie can go to unless she trains with these guys or the Elder Gods wish to grant her godly powers like Raiden (A+) to surpass these guys.)

All the higher tiers and above - Every other superpowered warriors engulfed in flames or ice cubed characters.
