Like if I had no idea who my dad was that'd already be a sore spot but finding out who he was and what happened if it was Raidou would be devastating. And I don't really see Honoka as a serious type of character, she seems very comic relief so idk how they're gonna handle that.

Horrible backstory. Seems to have been raised in a nurturing environment, fostering a light-hearted and trusting nature. Has freedom to fuck around traveling the world for soul-searching. Has magic ability that lets her steal awesome fighting moves from other legendary fighters. Has hilarious appearance that is apparently considered sexy.

Yeah. Horrible life.

Her sister would have it worse, Honoka is raised by her Grandmother so maybe Raidou keeled her. But Ayane is the one who got the bad life, she's part of the ruling family on the elder branch and she's a rape baby of the disowned eldest son.

@Brute Again I gotta go back to her dad. Right now it's fun and games with a little bit of "hmm wonder who my dad was and I had no father figure" but finding out would be really depressing imo and I wouldn't want to use my power ever again knowing I got it from a guy who caused so much suffering with it.

I wouldn't really get caught up with the problems of some asshole who had no part of my childhood. I don't believe in guilt by association, and even if I did, that's some pretty stretched association.

That's something I see in shows/movies/books/games which is why I mentioned it. The whole 'I got x from this parent I hate so I hate it too' thing as a storyline. Then coming to realize that you aren't your parent and you can use that power for good and all that. Possible cliche storyline for her.

Honoka will be the key for Raidou to get his redemption for his past wrongdoings, this is basically the clichè used almost all the times when there is a good son/dark parent situation. The fact that Raidou was already presented us as a potential "victim" (MIST brought him back for its sake and he has no memory of his past) imo already foreshadows this development.

Is it even confirmed that Raidou is the pops?

No @DestructionBomb this is pure speculation even if seems pretty plausible considering all the hints on Honoka so far. Chapstick assumed it and the consequent asnwers (as mine) have been given on this basis.

Should also mention that she out of nowhere has a intro/win quote with Ayane... which... is a little too random imo.

For all we know, that glove could instantly copy anything it sees which could lead to the instant aura copy of Raidou. We don't know majority of the roster fathers either. Eliot's pops, Brad Wong's pops, Zack's pops and even Lisa's pops who is somewhere out there with 9 jobs.

Nyotengu and Hayabusa was rather random as well, Hayabusa defeated and killed Bankotsubo in DOA2.

There are many random things in the game that even TN don't understand to be truthful lol.

Hayabusa and Nyotengu is not random because the fans requesting Bankotsubo put the focus on his Deception line and the tie with Hayabusa (more people asked for Tag team between the two character). TN didn't bring back Banko but even so showned to listen the requests of the fans through this tag team.

Also keep in mind that the tags are already done with in mind the possible role behind the characters in the future of the series, an to be fair if you put a tengu in the game is not so hard to think that he could wish to meet the character with the huge interaction with another creature of his race.

Returning to Honoka, the same copycat ability of Raidou, the same eyes of Ayane, the fact that Honoka as a tag team just with both of them and the mistery behind the parents of her (she was raised from her grandaughter, so we know for sure that her parents weren't with the girl in her childhood), are more than enough for making possible this development in future.
