@Gurimmjaw I never really enjoyed rap or hip hop....I like pop and other electronic genres much better, but I keep that to myself because other African American kids at my school mock me for it:-(
Rap, hiphop or about 98% of pop music is rubbish. That's no feeling, artistic-ness or intelligence behind the music. It's just mass marketed bullshit. Old school hiphop is pretty dope though, but that's long gone now.
@Chaos That's what I'm saying! The classics are miles better than today's selection. Money, sex, and acting hard is what is considered cool today, unfortunately....
Today you ou got artists who are very talented like Nas, Rakim, Tech N9ne, Kendrick Lamar, Wu-Tang, Twisted Insane, Eminem and J. Cole. They know how to put out dope music, REAL hip hop music.
I listen to some rap, but it's definitely not much. What I also dislike about mainstream music is the length of the songs. Everything is so damn short.
Most songs today are 3:15-3:30 at the longest. But the artists have to sometimes perform at concerts, so they have to make a song that they can sing an actually remember the words to so short is disappointing, but helpful to the artist
I listen to alot of VG game music to be honest. It's great for work outs and letting off steam. @Pictured Mind you can tell when they write their own songs, because the words are shorter and they the verses are quicker and rush to the hook after a few seconds. Ghost writers tends to add alot of extra ham to the sandwich the artist obviously can't eat all at once :-p
Uhm a lot. I keep adding and deleting stuff to my Spotify as well, haha. I think Tool is my favorite band, Black Sabbath is a close second.
My favorite albums from last year were Mastodon's "Once more 'round the sun", At the Gates' "At war with reality", Triptykon's "Melana Chasmata" and Crosses' self titled album.
Nice choices! I don't have particular artists I enjoy, I'm mostly a drifter. I like rock, pop, some r and b, EDM and electronic music, and dubstep. But I prefer for more moody and meaningful lyrics and beats. Chandelier, Russian Roulette, Runaway (U and I), and Don't tell em are some songs I enjoy
