Then you're being stubborn for the sake of it. I'm hardly alone in my opinion, either. I haven't spoken to a single person who has actually played the game and didn't like it. Has the best final boss fight that I have ever played. Absolutely epic. Feels like a fighting game in that fight.
I'm hesitant to take your word for it because the visual design (no, not just Dante. everything) looks like ass, the music makes my ears bleed in a bad way, all abilities are available to you at all times (as far as I can tell) which limits customizability (which is HUGE in terms of how much I like a game), there are (as far as I know) no reskin or customization unlocks (beside all ability ones),
Vergil is only DLC and not playable in all levels, and the writing in at least all the cutscenes I've seen (roughly half) is on par with what a 5th grader would produce. I'm not stubborn for the sake of being stubborn. I'm skeptical in light of valid premises. There's a difference.
I have seen plenty of backlash from fans of the classic DMC games about DmC. Having played the game yourself, do you believe the backlash is justified or is it just a matter of fans of old adapting to the new direction?
I just want to hear his reasoning on the matter, that' s all. I am still on the fence about the game, but i loved the DMC & DMC3. Have you played this new one Brute?
Only the demo. On the fence on buying it. I want to play it despite not liking what I see simply because I don't want to be dismissive. But $60 for a game I likely won't enjoy is pretty steep. I don't even like paying $60 for games I really like. Regardless I'll be waiting for the PC version next week.
Let's be clear: this is not a sequel to the previous Devil May Cry games. It does have some differences in gameplay, it has many differences in the story, and the visual and audio design is also different. All that being said, the new characters and world are great and well written and acted and the visuals are pretty stellar, if a bit different.
The combat flows extremely well once you get rolling with all of the weapons and get into the flow of it. In direct comparison to the writing of the old games, dialogue and all, this game is leaps and bounds better, but it's still very purposefully low brow and Dante is written like a cocky, somewhat arrogant guy that kind of grows as the story goes on.
