It also may be a translation from his Japanese "Old Man" which is a generic/default term of respect. But, they might be implying a prior encounter; who knows?
Not even that, they've had a tag throw since DOA2, and in DOA5, both him and Rig will call Bass, "ossan" (おっさん), which roughly translates to "old man", while in the English VA, they'll just sumply say "hey". We already know Bass and Rig are buddies, but do Lee and Bass also have some sort of friendship? This is quite interesting.
AH! You speak JP!? I'm JP. Long story short I've lived here since I was 8 (off-and-on). That must be why we like masochistically hard games. Where have you been!? lol
Yes, you make a compelling point. I didn't factor in since DOA2. So I think that there is a relationship but we might not know much of the details.
I imagine that all of the OGs who are still around from the first two Dead or Alive tournaments know each other in some way. They would have to be incredibly oblivious not to.
Anime people are pretty oblivious but point taken, Brute haha. Perhaps they chose Jann Lee's tag conversational implicature to communicate their friendship.
