Did someone snitch on you or something?

Why would that be necessary?

@Goarmagon: I have no idea.

@Brute: I have my reasons, though that doesn't matter now that I just found a way around it temporarily.

@Brute So that Mark Zucerberg can wipe his ass with the 4th amendment with more efficiency with selling info to advetizing agencies. I have a shitload of privacy plugins on my browser and use a fake name that sounds convincing and thats barley enough.

No, I meant why would it be required to use a real name on Facebook? Are they checking SSNs now or something?

The reason I cited above is the reason why. They have algorithms that corroborate and cross reference information but the problem(for them) is that there's not enough computational power to do that quickly which is why some people can get away with a fake name.

I use fake names on nearly all of my accounts. If they tried to cross-reference anything, the alias would likely be corroborated. I assumed that was rather typical for those concerned with privacy on the net.

@Brute: Yes, they're prompting documents now.

I barely use Facebook anyways and it's mainly just there so I can find out info from DOA, Dungeon Fighter Online Global and just wanting to see what's up. I barely even talk on the thing except for random personal stuff at sporadic moments.

Dammit. The temporary solution didn't work. Now I'm truly screwed and can't even access Facebook.

Awesmic why do you hide your identity anyway. I mean no one is gonna go that far just to know your name.
