For starters, Raidou is a character that requires an understanding to the game from the player's part. Raidou has obvious flaws that can potentially put the player at risk 50% or more majority of the time.

A large number of his GBs are disadvantage and majority of the moves he throws out are quite slow. He's likely a character where you have to be sure you understand the character your opponent is using and how to punish back with Raidou. Speed is generally not in your favor.

Now the good part about Raidou is that he has a lot of deep stuns and they hurt. Majority of the setups cannot be staggered out so the opponent has to hold, which can potentially be at your advantage because holding leads to more guessing. Holding so much can lead to big throw damage or launchers from incorrect holds.

So for Raidou's case, you want to take advantage of the stun system with him. Which is plain and simple. Get a stun, watch your opponent. Is he/she holding a lot or incorrectly? boom, take advantage of that. Did they stop holding? free launchers or stuns, boom.

I'm not a Raidou pro but you should be careful using him like destruction said he's really slow and has deep stuns but him being slower can be at your advantage

Protip: get the Tatsunoku costume. ;P

Bait holds and 33F+P (like half the roster). Easy input and damage. I kind of like his 6KK, I poke with the first kick and follow-up with the second - it knocks back into walls and destructibles easily for good, simple damage. Don't be afraid to play cheap.

6KK is unsafe though

It is, but just about majority of his moves are powerful within a stun scenario. 6KK on a full wallsplat can grant an unholdable fireball. If they get up and block near a wall, you get a free GB stun for a guaranteed jab right after.

Yeah the Gold Lightan outfit is an amazing outfit.

I've read all this and it is understandable, His stun game when I look at it is very strong, I keep getting mid kick and high kick held for his launches like 33K and 8K but that's just bad play on my part for not throwing the fuck out of the opponent for doing that xD

Hi, I invite you to check out the Raidou threads in his section, some good stuff there. And basically what they said, Raidou is a heavy striker character, he's actually not that slow, the problem is that his moves have a lot of recovery, so you can't whiff them. Raidou himself, is very slow, his movement is really bad, so spacing with him can be difficult, especially due to his large hitbox.

And yes, he excels most in stun, the only problem is getting there, that's where stuff like whiff punishing and baiting come into play.

Oh and he has one of if not the best 2p in the game, abuse it.
