Can't speak for others, but personally I could never get in to it because it looks flat. It may be very complex cool in that regard, but unless my character looks cool beating people up, I can't motivate myself to invest in it. The combat LOOKS aesthetically boring. The characters LOOK and MOVE bland. Thus, I can't care for it.

you're entitled to your opinion and I respect that but to me the gameplay is amazing and I love the art style. Btw Tekken Dark Resurrection movement is way more fluid than DOA5 lol

the damage is fucking insane in that game. How can it be taken serious when some characters can deal huge amounts of damage over nothing? Some characters can fly, shoot long range missiles. This kid shot me with 2 missiles and it took 80% of my health away, sure you can sidestep or whatever, but thats fuckin insane

"Tekken Dark Resurrection movement is way more fluid than DOA5"
Could not disagree more.
And even fluidness aside, the moves themselves aren't as cool. I mean seriously, does any move in Tekken ever come close to being as awesome as an Izuna drop? I haven't seen one.

when you walk forward with any character they move like ducks and their heads are frozen in place staring at the other character. Also why do people diss doa and say the girls have "doll faces" uhh have you seen TTT2?? Jesus christ, those girls are the definition of DOLLS

Agree with the damage comment. I've seen some great Tekken matches, but when I play it, I feel stiff as a brick.

In DOA I feel free as a bird.

I am rooting for a new Virtua Fighter though.

Tekken really does feel stiff like a brick but if you guys play Tekken on PSP you'll notice how fluid it is compared to the console version.

DOA feels free like bird? Well the previous version, yes but not DOA5 lol.

People hate Tekken for the same reasons why people hate other fighting games... They "DONT" understand how the game works.

That's definiety true.

There's a reason why damage output is high from combo's in Tekken. The game is about spacing and utilizing techniques such as wave dashing and back dash canceling to space properly. In high level tekken, 2 players who've mastered those techniques can make matches last up to 3-5 minutes. So if you have combo's that do shitty damage it'll make matches last longer and allow more room for error.

Same exact reason why TN lowered the life bar in the recent patch, so in tournaments players can capitalize off damage opportunities.

Now damage wise. There are juggles, and throws that are just as damaging as some juggles in Tekken. Jann Lee has a CB combo that does 70% damage with ease.. If you do a juggle that powerful in Tekken I can tell you now it will require some technical moves, mainly just frames that are not easy.

Alpha 152 has throws that do more damage than the standard Tekken juggle. Eliot can steal up to 40% from several combo's as can other. Hitomi and Jann Lee are damage bullies. So that's what I have to say about damage...=/

Yes, in Tekken it really does take some skill to pull off over the top combos especially on a technical level and lets not forget that the buffer system has strict timing.

It's not so much I hate Tekken as it is that I couldn't find a character that actually met my preferences until Tekken 6.

However, if the current timeline was still in the Tekken 2 era, it'd be a completely different story. I'd likely be playing Jun Kazama instead of Zafina.
