Well PL is right about MK.... the Defensive Options Pale in Comparison to the Offensive Options.... the Chip Damage is so Excessive I don't even know why anybody would bother Blocking anything.

As for Street Fighter..... well I wouldn't know... I'm garbage in that game.

I agree with the mkx comment, cause in mk9 you at least had invincible specials (8 frames of invincibilty were added to your specials if used on wake up), so once you knocked your opponent down you had to be weary of their wake up options

but in mkx if you have no meter, you're pretty much forced to take w/e mixup they throw at you once you're knocked down, that's why you meaty on everyone's wake up. if you have meter you can wake up with an armored special (provided your character has one), but the game evolved to a point where people have meaties designed to break armor

but mkx is not w/o defensive options, it's just that they all kinda, suck. there's wake up backdash if you need to get away, and the backdashes in mkx are really quite good, but since people are so focused on meatying on wake and the backdashes have no invincibilty, it's not all that useful

Then there's block breakers, which are basically the same as v-reversals and alpha counters, but they cost 2 bars of meter and considering how important meter is in mkx and how slowly it's built, spending 2 bars to get someone off you while you're blocking is a poor way to spend meter

LoL.... thats why I say PL is right.... you don't have to worry about all that if you cannot mount a better Offense than your Opponent. Ofcourse once you get Knocked Down or Cornered you're Pretty Much Fucked..... I'm guessing thats why the meter builds up more than it does in other Fighting Games.

And That Fight Interface is the worst.

Not only does the inclusion of the stamina Bar mean theres one more thing Drawing your Attention Away from the Action but its also difficult to see in your Peripheral Vision on Some Stages.

It wouldn't surprise me if players spent more time looking at the Bars and Meters than they did at their opponents Characters. even something as Trivial as Backdashing Consumes Stamina. LoL. I'm starting to think Injustice was Better.

And really ? Street Fighter V has reversals ? Like can you break Combos with it ?

yeah, I am not a fan of the stamina system in this game, in mk 9 you could cancel dashes with anything (kinda like in DOA) which made the movement very janky but fun, and in injustice even though you couldn't dash cancel, at least didn't eat up a resource.

but yeah SFV has reversals, but you can only break combos on block, not on hit. it's a decent anti pressure tool, although most ppl don't use em, including myself lolz

LoL.... Well since they don't have universal Parries and Focus Attacks anymore I guess Capcom needed something for Defenders to latch on to but it only works on Block ? :( that's very Underwhelming. :(

i don't disagree, but both of these players have not been shy about the fact that they prefer the previous iterations of their respective games over the current ones, so this just be a case of playing the new game like the old game and it's not working, which i understand

I'm can't agree with that. I'm a defensive player at heart and I feel that both of the games don't cater to my style, but that doesn't stop me from okayig them

What I find interesting is that both PL and Kbrad have aggressive styles, so why they aren't having the success they want make me question what they really don't like
