I may eventually get one in time, who knows maybe I'll like the input feel since I didn't have a problem using the arcade stick machines in arcades as a kid, SC2 and T4 were arcade games I always would play at the PX
I think you will like this pad @KasumiLover69 - I have it as well and it makes characters like Jacky and a few others far more easier. Jacky is one of the harder characters too.
It is also easier to do Akira's knee as well on this pad. Only difference is that the buttons are much more sensitive on response, in terms of usage between the two? I prefer the top one up there because the buttons are sensitive to my liking.
I firmly Disagree.... there is such a thing as "Arcadey Movesets" that are easier to do with a Fightstick.
Obviously switching from gamepad to stick isn't going to suddenly eliminate execution errors but for many people 1000 Hours on Arcade Stick will yield better results than 1000 hours on gamepad.
If that wasn't the Case then there would be no reason for the Arcade Stick to exist at all.
As for the second down there. Never tried but it is cheaper and it's the same exact dev team that made the top one up there. SnakeEyes (The best Zangief in US) uses that pad and won a tournament with it. Naps from Tekken made top 8 with this.
But again, it's all preference. I tried it out with the only downside is that you have to adjust the D-pad mold on the top left from Super sensitive or less sensitive.
@Lulu - That's because they've accustomed to that game style. You have pad players that won tournaments with a standard PS4 pad because they've played that one particular game for hours. The only exception is VF, but that game is also possible with a pad.
Having a stick means that you are also netting those corner executions and motions easier, but none of that even matters if the roster also contains characters that doesn't invest into that greatly because of usage.
I'm talking about getting one damn move to come out Consistently.
I personally also like playing Pad but there are some moves I can do faster and more consistently on Keyboard (never owned an arcade stick). The infamous Shoryuken is a good example for me, I can do it on both peripherals but I do it faster on Keyboard simply because I can get to the inputs faster.
There's also the issue of Wear and Tear.... even if you could do the moves better on pad.... the generic pad that your consoles comes with might not be able to handle the strain of all those KBD's and EWGF's.
Some people just get a stick because the thing won't fall apart after two matches and even if it does... they can just replace the one broken part rather than the whole thing.
One Time a had an old Joypad and the entire D-Pad Fell Off.... using a Nail and Hammer my brother gently nailed the D-Pad back to the controller.... I swear it felt more responsive than ever !!!
What'd you do, drop it or something UDG?? I've almost stepped on mine a few times along with my glasses but I always stop just in time, my caramel brown afro Hispanic instincts always kick in before I do that XD
@Lulu - Still does not apply on the resulting outcome because it is all the same regardless.
Again, a controller or stick does not make the man. You can still do a knee on a pad for DOA. You are not restricted to do anything. What you can do on stick can still apply on pad due to preference. DOA is not a game limited to that. This isn't VF or KOF.
Even better, there are players on the VF forums who can do a knee on a pad because they figure out ways to do it. The issue is the time you are willing to make on performing it. You can't take the easy way out of things every single time because that's not how life works.
And you can take the easy way out of things because that's how life Works..... you obviously can't do it all the time but sometimes you just get off scott free.
Speaking of Akira's knee, on pad you only have one thumb to do a Frame perfect move that requires two buttons.... Pretty sure an Arcade Stick that affords all five fingers a spot for the buttons will make Akira's knee easier. Its pretty Simple Ergonomics.
