I don't think Ayane has dyed purple hair, but she does dye it in collaboration DLC

I made my choice sometime ago i guess. Ayane, because ninja gaiden games and fun moveset in DOA. And i think her hair is naturally purple, in DOAD her eyebrows are brown, which would indicate hair coloring, but DOAD isn't canon anyways.

DOAD is canon.. it's the retconned version and has an improved and more well done story. You'll have to accept it whether you like it or not since DOA5 goes by that storyline retcon

I though that too, but Mr. Wah told me once that the japanese fanbase got so disappointed with the DOAD story that Team Ninja at one point declared that the DOAD story isn't canon, could never find any confirmation though.

It probably didn't happen, but then again the story is much better than the ambiguous and misleading prior game stories imo

not going into opinions, i do believe that something like that could have happened, and that Mr. Wah would be the one to know that, but i can't find any written or confirmed thing for way. And DOA 5 reffers to both events that happen in DOAD, but also reffers to events that were retconned out in DOAD and belonged to the original series, and also ignores some events of DOAD as well, so is hard to really know
