I can sort of relate to this. But, can you tell me what Nyotengu's holds would consist of?
Maybe a hold that forces opponents into a bad position (or simply frame advantage). Perhaps a state where she is guaranteed a free hit. Or, maybe if her holds did slightly more damage, considering that she is designed partially as a "power-house."
Yeah I hate it when they do that.... Hayabusa, Pai & Bayman get Holds perfect for their Style but Nyotengu's one's just don't mesh together well with her moveset.
minus her aerial holds, they all leave her in a pretty bad position, standing right next to her opponent and not enough FA to allow anything, can't psudeo with her 2p (they can WUK before that), can only body hop if they roll forward and then mash WUK (which i guess you can condition an opponent to do, but still, not very reliable)
you can go for a downed 2k, but it's a huge risk because you're insanely minus if they avoid it (which they always can), moreso than most characters. i guess because her downed attack does 15 dmg as opposed to everyone else doing 10 dmg TN felt they need to make it more risky? i dunno, it still sux.
it's the Ein throw problem all over again, most of Ein's throws (excpet for 33t) leave him in the same bad positions as Nyo, but on the flip side, he has a pretty decent KBD for creating space and sick whiff punishing options. Nyo has neither, her KDB is pretty bad and her lack of a decent mid whiff punisher makes it harder punish WUKs
it almost makes me reluctant to hold out of pressure because even if i make the right read or react to an opponents string and break their pressure, im still gonna be in a shitty situation due to the positioning my holds are gonna put me in
