I'm still on the first island and you're all talking about E4 already lol. Stupid european release date. What I do like is that it's quite unpredictable which pokemon you'll find in which area. Didn't expect to find a Misdreavus or a Spinarak so early in the game.

The Rowlet evolution line is the fastest of the three in the end I believe, with a base speed of 70...... All starters are slow this time around. In a way it might not be a bad thing... When the starter is one of the fastest all the time, it's a lot easier to keep using only that Pokemon...

That was a problem for me in all the games. For some reason, they really love to crit the opponent when you need to just get their health down enough to be red, and catch the Pokemon. Oh that's awesome. Good to know you can catch their evolved forms that way. Although I'd still prefer to breed...

Really? I wouldn't have expected affection to affect dodge, crits and status, let alone save a pokemon from fainting. Interesting mechanic. I'll have to try it out. Went with Rowlet btw.

I keep wondering how the whole grooming/feeding/petting influences the game in a relevant matter. And the festival plaza seems more like a chore than a fun aspect. Still early in the game though, and despite these, it's quite fun. The intro is much better than the majority of other Pokemon...

For some reason that combinations worked quite well since Black/White. It was my go-to combination to catch something I didn't want to accidentally KO or let it kill all my Pokemon. Sleep -> Throw Pokeball. Pokeball also works better than Great and Ultra in that case. Might be superstition but...

Well yeah... Its weaknesses are extensive, but it's also resistant to Normal, Grass, Flying, Psychic, Bug, Dragon and Fairy, and double resistant to Ice. You can combine it with a Dragon/Flying, Fire/Flying, Fairy/Flying or Water/Flying and you'll have some real solid defense there...

Ice/Steel is a nice combination. I'll be looking to trade an alolan Vulpix for an alolan Sandshrew as soon as possible after I can play the game.

Litten seems to be very popular. I'll be going with Rowlet myself I think... Lycanroc (sun) is also going on my team, along with Alolan Ninetales. Salazzle also seems a nice addition. Don't know about the rest.

Indeed. Seems to be the best Pokemon game yet. I ran it for a bit on PC with an emulator, but it was too unplayable due to low framerate, so I only played until choosing my starter. It's a lot more dynamic than prior games. Before you have a cow due to piracy or whatever, I pre-ordered the game...
