Hmm, considering that DOA x3 came out not that much ago, and NiOH is their next big release, i think between 2018 and 2020 a good bet for DOA 6 (and hopefully Ninja Gaiden 4). While DOA 5 LR is just a year old, is just a new version of DOA 5. So, i voted 2019.

Improved netcode would be the best thing, but at this point in the game lifecycle? Well, i know future updates are only for ps4 and onwards, but i would be glad to actually be able to play people online when i get a ps4. I can't think of something that i would want honestly from DOA 5 besides...

Yeah, it is a model swap, mid stage, so if the game had some restriction about loading character models at the beginning of the fight, would be a bit difficult, but you are right. The point was, doing that, is ok, adding butt jiggle is another whole thing.

So, what a good practice routine for a beginner to start would be? Pick a character, practice what first? what is the approach?

I don't know, they would have to work with this in-engine, and it is probably easier to make a new game from scratch at this point. Costume bursts and transforms were a nice thing, and surely difficult to implement, but they didn't mess with anything that was already there.

In an actual combat vs the competitors, ryu would be the first to hold back at all, there is no evidence of him using a ninpo against someone in the DOA tournaments he participated. The same for the other ninjas.

The DOA universe is the NG universe, that is pretty sci-fi-ish, with a lot of fantasy into it. But Naotora is just a cameo, she is not canon in the game (at least i would hope so).
