No, you're right. If you flip over near a wall you can sometimes get one free strike you couldn't normally since the wall pushes you closer but yeah. Nothing good besides guessing games and Hayabusa isn't fast enough to play games against most of the cast that close.

Doesn't exactly have a lot of guaranteed options on Normal. Very few, in fact. So unless you mean they have to mess up their holds (or simply not do them) then I'm not so sure I'd agree.

Fairy Tail is awesome and gets better as it goes on. I'm personally NOT a fan of fan service in the way that they do it here (lingering panty shots, tit shots, etc) but it doesn't get too much in the way of everything. Characters are extremely well written and don't do things out of character...
