The only time you should do a wake up kick is when the opponent is whiffing attacks. Otherwise, don't even bother. If you suspect they are going to hold mid or low wake up kicks just get up fast and do a mid punch ;)

I usually only hold low-wake ups with Brad when I have baited it out with a string that ends with his lying on the ground stance. I just get back up real fast and do a low hold. Almost everyone fall for it :)

Maybe i'll try using Leifang soon. She seems fun to use.

I started playing Brad online for only like a month or so and i don't win that often, but I was in a lobby where I think most of the players there had just started playing. I started to get a win-streak against them, and for some reason some of the players started spamming moves over and over...
