What method of sidestepping is everyone using?

8H+P+K/2H+P+K since it's much easier than double tapping 8 or 2. Trust me, if you guys switch to it, you will be SS'ing moves much easier than before.

    D.I.D. 8: Aftermath

Personally, I don't think it was a tool, I think it was a glitch that the devs forgot to check.

"You'll never be alone again, Mathilda." [Mila General Discussion]

There is no need to understand. People just find it annoying to be TD'd, even though it is easy to break, it makes them rage. It's sad honestly, there are plenty of other characters with much better tools, yet people are actually aiming for one who's main tool doesn't even guarentee anything.

    D.I.D. 8: Aftermath

Helena doesn't need something like that, she just needs better frame advantage in general.

You all need to make sure you understand what is going on before asking Team Ninja for nerfs/buffs.

What? Easy to sidestep?! Maybe if the person is stupid enough not to throw in the entire string. Even if you sidestep one of Jann's attacks, the next one will almost always hit you, so essentially the SS is useless. And I agree with DR2K, wtf is linearity? That his moves are SS'able yet you can...

Bass needs it, otherwise he would be fucked.

I know what you mean lol. Essentially Alpha can do away 70% of a players health bar with a launcher and KKKKKKK.

Essentially, people can win with him even with bad reads via dragon gunner and his damage overall. He is easy to win with because of his high damage output. In this game that means fewer guesses = a win.

Maybe, but it won't change my opinions on Jann Lee

You don't understand how ridiculous it is to fight Jann Lee. He is essentially, an easy character to play as, with every tool he needs to win the game. Sidestepping him does help, until he throws in another string, since they end up hitting you after sidestep. His 66T leads to a good stun game...

"You'll never be alone again, Mathilda." [Mila General Discussion]

This can't be true. If they really nerf her TD's essentially they take away the point of even playing the grapple game with her. If this is true, we definitely have to stop it. Also, I don't understand how the hell people call that OP.... essentially you are just punishing people for...

    D.I.D. 8: Aftermath

Ya know, I said this as well, but all this talk about how great Helena is once she hit's you is getting me upset for some reason. I'll probably just focus for the next few days on solely finding ways to completely counter Helena just to stop people from giving her so much credit.

    D.I.D. 8: Aftermath

I assume you play Mila. Just 6P her to stop her crush attacks then either go for a TD, do 3H+K, or if you're feeling lucky you can do a launcher from there.

Hmm, how do you think TN can fix up mila's TD's then?

"You'll never be alone again, Mathilda." [Mila General Discussion]

Honestly, after 2 hits, which I usually always get in, I let them break the third hit on purpose in order to hit them and then take them down again. If I feel they are going to block the mid punch, I just go straight into a takedown after the recovery from the break. If you wan't to just end the...

    D.I.D. 8: Aftermath

Helena isn't really a common sub either. I see more Jann's, Kasumi's, and Ayane's than anything.

"You'll never be alone again, Mathilda." [Mila General Discussion]

True, I just men't to say that being broken from a takedown still gives mila slightly more of an edge. But it is 50/50.

"You'll never be alone again, Mathilda." [Mila General Discussion]

Actually, even if people break the takedown, it still leaves mila at an advantage almost similar to bass. Mila can either throw out the 4P, 2P, knee, or can just go for another take down. This leads to more than just 50/50 chances and really boosts up the momentum. Essentially you scare the...

    D.I.D. 8: Aftermath

One of the main reasons why Helena is annoying to fight is simply because her stun game is ridiculous, since she has tons of options after stun game. Essentially, you have to guess right to stop her, which is difficult due to her many launchers, delayable strings, and crush moves. Aside from...

Help on how to defend properly in DOA5

I do try sidestepping, still need to work on it since I end up eating the rest of the string anyways. But I do have a question, any tips on beating Hayate's 3H+K while on the ground?
