It could be that she fits the developers asthetic for character design. Or that shes one of the few characters to have a melee style of combat which is easy to translate into a fighting game.

I hope she has a ground tackle like this :3 Her inclusion a great thing SW has a huge fan base this will only make the DOA community larger.

Naotora ii was probabaly a no brainer because shes one of the only characters that have a melee style of combat. Back when the senran kagura anouncement was made i was hoping the new girl character would be katsuragi, but naotora plays pretty similarly, and if shes anything like she is in SW...
