I take it you saw my post to Cyber Evil describing my white/pink Jack? lol. Nothing embarrases Japanese players like getting beat by effeminate robots.
No. Its because the game is solid as fuck and has been since Tekken 3. It has a devout following all over the world, especially in Japan and America. The game is equalled only by Virtua Fighter in being considered the god father of 3D fighting games. The only time you see a dip in Tekken...
I have plenty of experience outside of DOA4 and I agree with Dr. Dogg. I really feel like you guys are thinking I'm riding his dick here soon but its fucking true. Whether because of the gameplay or shitty marketing, DOA has never touted big tournaments. DOA2 was an alright game, pretty good...
I mean we're in agreeance that you're not going to play on a portable competitively, which is one of the points I was raising. Sales number for portable games aren't anything anyone should go off for a games popularity because I mean, the games fanbase won't whole-heartedly go out and purchase...
I don't know who you are, but I think you may be slightly retarded. No Dead or Alive has ever sold as well as any Tekken... I haven't looked at numbers for portable consoles, but what competitive player buys a portable fighting game? Has one ever been considered good? I had Tekken 6 on my PSP...
I'm sure my account still exists, but my 360 RROD a couple months back and I never cared to buy another. I definitely want to come down for TGS though so I'm sure we'll meet up, and I'll be down to play DOA... will DOA5 be out by then?
I'm not saying it looks like garbage because its a Smash ripoff, because I was psyched when I heard about this, I love sony games. This game just looks like garbage.
I'm just saying, you're already choosing to play one of the most difficult fighting games there is, and then you're trying to learn it with one of the more difficult characters. There's no real life trophy you get for that shit, my advice is pick up the game with an easier character, ala Jean...
Are you actually good at the game? Do you have prior fighting game experience? Because starting a game with a complicated character is a good way to make you want to drop the game...
Dr. Dogg and Winback bring up good points but I'm completely with Winback on this. I know I'll be playing on PS3 IF I play, my xbox red ringed and I said fuck it, never again. I still own a 360 wired pad just in case, but every tournament I've gone to, I've never had to bust that shit out.
Hey Talim, I'm in Misawa, Aomori, Japan, maybe I'll go to the TGS... unfortunately I can't make it down to Tokyo or Osaka for one of these tests, not enough money... unless someone wants to sponser me a little money to go test it out ;)
