Breed your Sylveon with a Ditto if you have one. Breeding goes really fast in this game, I got eight Eevees in like 15 minutes

It influences it a lot. When your pokemon is at max affection through "refresh" (pokemon amie) it has a good chance of surviving with 1 HP when it should have been KO'd, breaking out of status problems even poison paralysis and burn, dodging moves that should hit, and gives more critical hits...
