Shimbori-san at Season's Beatings plus GUTS Reminder!

Dead or Alive 5 is set to drop in all regions during the final full week of September, with North America leading off the releases September 25. While our friends across the pond will be looking forward to the game's release on September 28th, those tournament-going players in North America will...

A note to all potential Hayabusa players

Unless the notation is no longer 22 taunt, he doesn't have it anymore. I tried to do it.

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

That's the only one he has. It's a game-wide thing. It's not just Ryu that gets hit when he shouldn't or vice versa.

A note to all potential Hayabusa players

Now the real question you guys have to ask yourselves is whether I posted this because the taunt annoys me personally, or if it's simply because I enjoy it when people make themselves look like idiots. Fun times. :)

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

Agreed. I'm almost positive I did it, though. Still possible it's in the final build, so all hope is not lost yet. EDIT: Somebody else just told me they did it in this build on End of the Earth, which is the level I'm almost positive I did. I'll let them post up if they want to, but it may be...

A note to all potential Hayabusa players

You are not to, under any circumstances, use Hayabusa's 646 taunt. Now that I think about it, it might actually be 464... Regardless of notation, his "wavy arms of wax-on, wax-off" taunt is banned. You are not to use it. That is all.

DOA5, Summer Jam, and the Offline Community

I vote for a new change in terminology then. I vote for "I'm the best to three!" Naturally only one person can say it in a match, but it's really no different than calling "Shotgun!" You snooze, you lose. Literally, in this case. Anyone want to second my motion? Any takers? Anyone at all?

I may have been mistaken about the Izuna off of cliffs thing. Check the Hayabusa thread for details. Not concrete but disconcerting.

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

Yeah the floor thing will interrupt you to be sure. Can't play a force tech game at all when it happens. As for the Izuna off of ledges thing, I just got confirmation back that, at least in the .95 build, you CAN NOT Izuna off of ledges. It was tested on Flow, presumably in the area that...

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

Yes he can. Any hard knockdown will go through floors in this one, including a counter blow into a tripping animation. That actually is unfortunate lol.

How do you play on controller? Pad, Analog Stick, or both?

I only answered to talk about bat tops. Don't know what everyone else's deal is.

    Is Shiden...Victor Donovan??

This thread was randomness to begin with.

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

I was the only Hayabusa main at GVN. I saw two other people using him, one that I didn't know and...was hopefully just messing around with him and Gren Kuts. Not sure if Gren Kuts mains him or was using him just for the hell of it. In any case, to expound a bit on the lows hitting aerial moves...

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

See I wrote that last post in bed and I'm still trying to sleep. When I wake up later I'll take the time to explain better. In short, lows can sometimes knock you out of things they have no business messing with. Mids too. And Hayabusa isn't slower. Just different. If anything he's faster.

How do you play on controller? Pad, Analog Stick, or both?

Haven't checked lately. Already have my two.

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

A sweep might do it. If you're trying to just attack them out of it, you'd want a true mid. Honestly that's a waste. A hold would get more damage and still get the knockdown. A sidestep and punish is even better.

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

His moves that appear to put him in an aerial state are in fact susceptible to mids and lows. Actually, this seems to affect the entire cast as I found getting knocked out of the air happens with a degree of frequency we've never seen before. Honestly it's very frustrating initially, but it...

Ryu Hayabusa: The Thinking Man's Super Ninja

Yeah no problem. Feel free to ask anything you can think of. That is the point of this thread, after all. And I've only scratched the surface of this guy in DoA5. Wait til I have my own copy and Rikuto and I start beating on each other. You'll see shit out of both our characters that'll blow...
