    I played it yesterday and I couldn't sidestep any strings. I sidestepped Hitomi's 6pk and was HCB'd by the the k everytime. Her power punches can't be sidestepped right away because they hit the sidestep after it's finished; it needs to be delayed, and it's not easy.

    Sidesteps the way they are, aren't viable imo. They only sidestep in their first few frames; any second attack in a string will hit and get HC.

    I dunno how you can or can't be familiar with mechanics in NG... I mean, If I mashed, I mashed. I'll give you NG1, it wasn't easy, but NG2 was just mash. Mashed potatoes, mashed yams; you name it, it was mashed.

    So it's the same as the old NG's? lol The IGN video just explained everything NG has always been; mashing buttons unless you're on a hard difficulty, and bad camera angles.

    Holds create an unbalanced game; taking them out means no need for a stun system. That's still not Tekken. People want it out because it makes no sense.

    More or less. A hold is instant, and gives you instant damage. When you attack someone you have the risk of being held, it doesn't really make sense (Unless you get a launch on Counter Blow); it's not very balanced. Holding is usually a better option then crushing because you get guaranteed...

    I think they should leave them in, but only for the ability to escape select small stuns; like how you would break a combo throw. I'm also starting to think that they should take damage away from holds in critical completely. Not normal holds obviously, just ones in critical.
