    Toughness also varies for the type of gear you wear. Having extremely lightweight armor provides you with very little toughness, whereas wearing heavy armor (such as Tatanashi) provides higher stats on toughness.

    Do you mean the situation for when you stagger as when you are making attacks? So to poise through attacks (or armor through them) you'll have to raise your toughness stat (which is mostly pointless on higher difficulties) due to some enemies/boss having various attacks that can one shot you.

    Disgaea is a good series by the way. Possibly the only Nippon Ichi Software/NIS games that genuinely doesn't feel low budget. Only issue is that it's a tactical RPG game with a milestone for grinding. But it comes packed with humor and occasionally 4th wall breaking.

    It's been 8 years for that game. Sega's division is all split and they got a new director who doesn't even have a team for the series anymore. They could obviously hire new ones. Yu Suzuki mentioned that if VF series return, he'd only co-direct it after Shenmue is done.
