Not the best 'screenshots' but yeah basically the game looks just as crappy and loads just as slow on both consoles. The main difference is the online. I ran a search for 3 round, winner stays, solo matches in the USA and the PS3 only brought up 4 rooms, while the 360 brought up the maximum of 20. There's also the issue of custom soundtracks... In case anyone was still on the fence

Based on your screenshots it looks like the PS3 version is running at a higher resolution. I think...

I'm pretty sure that's the case since I believe it's been confirmed that the PS3 was the lead platform for the game.

Not really. It seems to be the same resolution. It's just the slightly different angle that shows some more jaggies in different places. The left edge of the ring has a lot less jaggies on the X360 version while the 'beams' on top in the background have less jaggies on the PS3.

I have a 360 but the ps3 one looks sharper than the 360 in your picture.
Hes right and as Dev stated the PS3 version is the lead development console. Im pretty sure that was mentioned by Dr. Dogg and the easiest example is look at the victory on Mila's shirt. Guess what though the game looks pretty much identical for both consoles which means job well done by the developer.

Although I'm sure the more detailed comparisons will find graphical faults with both versions they're indistinguishable to my eyes, flipping back and forth between TV inputs. It's just such a shame the PS3's online sucks so much because the game is a lot more fun with the PS3 pad. Not only are there barely any rooms but the ones available are generally laggy and a lot more "vocal" than the 360 rooms

The PS3's online is the same and the only difference is the people playing the game. A lot more people play on a wireless connection on the PS3 so it doesnt mean the 360 version has better online. From what im hearing the netcode in general could use some work.

A lot more people playing wireless on ps3 DOES mean the 360 has better online.

Anyways I have played a shit ton online so far and the netcode is good, the only bad matches I have are with people super far away, or on wireless.

Not sure if this does have anything to do with resolutions (but I'm pretty sure it does), PS3 only runs in 720p while 360 is 1080p.

Lead platform doesn't mean a whole lot either if it's a multi-plat title. They make it on the PS3 so that it's easier to port to the 360. They're optimized to an almost identical degree, there's hardly a difference in those pics above and there's nothing between the two (visually) that should necessarily be turning anyone off from either version except for the fact that one can run in 1080p and one cannot.

The 360 version doesn't run at 1080p, the Xbox just has a built-in scaler that the PS3 lacks.

I understand why they do it but it does in fact matter, look at NG3 that came out earlier this year and runs on a similar graphical engine as DOA5. The PS3 version was clearly superior while the 360 version was severely neglected. I'm curious as to what a proper tear-down of both versions will reveal for DOA5.

Did you take photos of your tv/monitor? If so, I don't think that's the way one should do a "graphical comparison". Talking about resolutions based on OP's pics is not that relevant.

Anyway, I'm not the kind that gives a damn about graphics, but so far they look the same to me. I'll remain with that idea until someone make an in-depth graphical comparison and prove it the other way.
