"5 truths about videogame tournaments"

Partly because I like to counter wakeups, buy mostly because its really really really boring to wail on someone like that and I don't like to nod off during my own matches.
Then finish the match quickly and get it over with.

Honestly, from a competitor POV. Quick matches that aren't exciting are better since you don't want to waste all your energy/brainpower on one match. Better to save that for the later matches where you'll need it.

That isn't the case and everyone knows it. Just the other week you complained about people wailing on you when you were down.

You don't like the experience and try to avoid it. Boring isn't the word. That's a way for you to try and degrade the situation instead of accepting the situation. You don't enjoy the concept of merciless aggression and have already effectively admitted as such when you called it a blood sport. You need to fix that about how you think, because it isn't going anywhere.

I don't mean to pounce on you, but if you don't attack players on the ground, does that mean you don't do that move where Mila is on top of the opponent and does her punches/grapples? Mila is an aggressive character, and the way you're playing her is putting yourself at a disadvantage, right?

From what you're saying, I understand that you like to let the opponent stand up before attacking, right? But will your opponent give you the same treatment? I'm afraid not :\.

Oh no I'll mount at every given chance. But I don't say, force tech.

If everyone acted the same way you did, the community would indeed be so uninviting to newcomers that they wouldn't even bother to try to understand the competitive mindset.

Be cool... don't be a tool.

This community is already uninviting to new comers, and mindset like these doesn't help honestly. Outside the stupid status updates constantly being made, the online drama, and disrespect towards contributers, this doesn't necessarily help.

Since you quoted my post, I'm lost. How is my mindset of standing up for someone I can relate to wrong again?

I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about majority of these online players on this site/psn/xbl/social media sites...etc that constantly makes this community look bad. The OP doesn't help.

Didn't mean to be uninviting to anyone, it was just my way to tell the OP to give up with the sandbagging mentality.

I must be totally disconnected from the community these days, because I pretty much never get that vibe...

Maybe I'm just ancient to the point now that nobody will give me shit. Oh well.

You have no idea.

You've won tournaments and/or placed high in tournaments. That's why no one gives you shit.

Others don't have it that easy, myself included.

You've beaten me before. You've beaten Master before. That's all the proof I need. If it's not enough for other people, that's on them. But I think most of your critics are people who don't even try to play the game competitively anyway... just people who have accomplished nothing and are trying to bring someone else down so they can feel like they are on equal ground. If it were me, I wouldn't even consider their voice valid.

To not play a game, but talk shit about the people who do... thats a worse-than-trash mentality. I can't take it seriously or consider those people a part of the community. Maybe its not that simple for other people to do that. Dunno. Makes sense to me though...
