After all the hype that the originally called "Battle Ryu" costume got on the internet, referred to as "Hot Ryu", Capcom finally jumped onto the bandwagon also officially adopting that name.

Exactly, I just don't really see how it's deemed hot...it's kind of like the mishimas in Tekken, they're always shirtless and it's done just for their costume purposes and more in line with their badassery, plus he looks like hasn't had a bath for days. I'm kind of surprised Vega doesn't get any attention, he's literally the Mr. Fanservice of the game, plus he's obsessed with beauty. I think Tyaren brought him up a LONG time ago back when this thread was way more active.

for whatever reason Vega looks worse than in old games.
Also Vega's "beauty" is more of a joke than an actual draw.
Honestly I'm surprised people don't cling to Ken more. He's always been the pretty boy of the two.

How many times do I have to explain more masculine=hotter to a lot of people and facial hair accomplishes that effect very easily because it's associated strongly with masculinity and a beard makes the jaw appear bigger, another feature associated with masculinity
Also we don't talk about Vega because he's ugly #caseclosed I'm not even quite sure what's wrong with his face, it just looks weird

D-don't insult Vega. :-( I think he's the prettiest boy in the entire game imo, but that's probably because I only use bishoujo/bishounen characters in games with more youthful and softer features, just personal taste. I can't believe you insulted my favorite male SF character like that Chap, that was a bullet in my fragile heart... jk, I don't mind. XD but I still think he's the pretty boy of the game in my eyes, even more or so than Ken. Alot of the guys in SFV just have a really weird looking face, Ken being one of them to me.

That is not a handsome face by any of today's standards. The proportions are all messed up. The little nose and lips in the broad, puffy face look especially dumb. And so does Ken:
Capcom even admitted themselves they messed up. They hinted at EVO that they will probably remodel certain characters:

They better not ruin Vega's face too bad...I honestly like it how it is now. They did this with Lili where they ruined her TTT2 face in favor of the cute Japanese face in T7, I vastly preferred her bitchy TTT2 face more than the one they gave her in TR, plus they fucked her hime sidelocks up. I'll never forgive Harada for that.

When I searched for a suitable pic of Ken's ugly mug I only realized it was edited with bananas after I had already posted it. I thought I just leave it like that. No one will probably notice. XD

Why is it that the mature women acting predatory to a young boy thing is generally seen as okay instead of creepy like it should be? Like if you swap genders and it was two big dudes acting inappropriately to a little girl people would be more disgusted.
Actually take age out of it, why is it more accepted for women in games/shows/movies to behave sexually inappropriate with unwanted advances than for men to act the same way? Like is it seen as less threatening?

....I am really embarrassed now. I would say that it's more a fantasy thing, a lot of guys enjoy the thought of being pursued by a sexually aggressive women, case in point this avatar I used, it's from a "special" uh... my friend suggested to me, and I enjoyed it immensely.♡ But anyway yeah just the whole reverse gender dominance thing won me over.
Speaking of which, this reminds me of an old video called "Booty Pop" by some young kid, and the women were dancing and shaking in front of him at the pool....yeah, switch the genders around and imagine how more controversial this would've been ~_~ It's kind of like the double standard Chap pointed out.
