Achievement General Discussion

I don't know about the grading systems, but at least a little more thought was put into the achievements. DOA4's achievements weren't really that great because most of them were survival and online. Boring.

My first question is, where are the grade achievements? Have they not been added yet or is there a different grading system? I sure hope not. F E D C B A S SS works perfectly fine.

The grading system is there, but they dont have achievements attached to them (Thankfully) Also seems like its only relevant to ranked matches which is really great.

Well, there is one achievement tied to getting all the titles and I don't think we know the conditions for nabbing each one so there very well could be some related to rank.

I always had a problem with those "Unlock All Achievements" achievements. First of all, they're a paradox. Second of all, they are just lame. It would have been better if they add some other achievement worth 100 points or just reallocated the points to other achievements and remove it entirely. Something along the lines of "Win 10,000 Matches" or "Defeat An Opponent Using Only Counters" would have been sufficient.

from the looks of it TN dont care about the achievements and I can't really blame them such a waste of time.it's a good selling point though as I know for a fact some achievement whores will get a game soley for easy acheivments smh.

That comes as part of the PSN trophies. each PSN trophy pack has an Unlock all platinum trophy and thats carried over to the achievements for parity.

Whats the problem anyway, its no harder to gain than the other most difficult trophy as it will unlock alonside your final unlock. Its practically a bonus.

I did not know about Platinum trophies, so excuse my ignorance there. It's just that I probably won't be able to get it because I can't see myself losing on purpose to get the "Failure Teaches Success" achievement. On another note, the first achievement I'm probably going to get is the 1 hour in training mode one.

That practically a free achievement! How hard would it be to set round to 1, life to smallest and just take a quick loss from the AI or whoever with each character.

Ill probably get "Safety First" first its disable danger zones on stage select. lol

Al of the achievements look extremely easy. The only ones that might be hard are

"The Ultimate Hyper Clone" - depending on how hard it is to unlock all titles
"Unlock All Costumes" - depending on how is to get costumes
"Akira Yuki" - depending on the requirements
"Sarah Bryant" - depending on the requirements
"DOA5 Master" - depending on how hard the above four are

These ones might be time consuming
"DOA5 Is My Life"
"Anybody, Anytime, Anywhere" - assuming you don't boost it

I agree that the "Unlock all achievements" achievement is dumb as hell.

Like I said above, this achievement equals the Platinum trophy for PS3. I dont see why its stupid or anything of the sort. If you're aim is to unlock all achievements and get the full 1000 gamerscore from it, that achievement is neither here nor there. It will simply unlock itself once you've reached that goal. if it didnt exist it would literally make no difference whatsoever except youd be unlocking 1 achievement at the end instead of 2 simultaneously.

Well, I know about PS3's platinum trophies, but don't they get shown in a collection of platinum trophies for bragging rights? On 360, that's not the case. When someone compares Gamerscore with you, the 1000G next to Dead or Alive 5 already states that you have "platinum'd" the game. The achievement being there isn't necessary.

Its not about that and you know it, its there for parity because the trophies and cheevos have to be the same. It doesnt make any difference if you unlock a set of 2 at the end or just the one. Its completely inconsequential. Its not stupid, or dumb its just whatever.

Why am I even... anyway moving on.

Kinda disappointed that as it seems now, there won't be much worth bragging about if you complete it all like it was with DOA4. They just don't seem very challenging or creative... Nice to know Alpha's officially in the game though.

I hope that "DOA5 Master" registers after your 47/48 achievement. As in, say my last achievement is "Sarah Bryant" which unlocks "DOA5 Master" with it. It would look weird if "Sarah Bryant" appears as more recent than "DOA5 Master". Sometimes this weird little hiccup happens, and I hope they properly programmed it, not that it's really a big deal, though.

DoA4 was nothing to brag about, either. The only tough achievements were the Survival ones, and that's only because you have an input-reading AI armed with zero frame counters. It literally came down to luck. Before you say it, no, SS was not hard to get.

DoA5 looks incredibly easy to 1k/Platinum and I'll likely do it on both consoles. The only issue is the high likelihood of titles tied to grind-fest feats like playing x amount of matches or winning a certain amount of ranked matches in a row. Mostly an annoyance if those happen.

It almost NEVER works that way. I don't like it either. You'd think someone would do it for the OCD completionist gamer...
