Anyone else had moments like this? (Stupid stuff)

Keep in mind, I could care less if I win or lose, i'm just playing for fun.

But I just had a Mila vs Mila, and the other guy was trying to just do like, one superlong combo the entire time, and when I shut it down, he had nothing left because he couldn't adapt. Yaknow, as in, he spent the whole match doing her twist kick to overhead flip combo, etc, etc.

WELP, during the last two rounds, I don't know what happened, I kept slipping up or missing or something, on the opening counter (The same thing that i'd already been constantly countering), eating the full combo, then he won the last two rounds. due to it. I'm sitting here going "....that did not just happen."

I don't normally rage at fighters unless like....I don't get to play, lol, but the whole situation just made me mad as hell. The guy only doing one thing, and I slipped up, and paid for it, whatever. But...even though i'm casual as they come, even I've got a LITTLE competitive spirit, so that ticked me off to no end that I lost to someone I had no business losing to, over screwing something that I'm so used to doing, that its the cornerstone of my whole playstyle. I'm not mad that I lost, I'm mad that I lost because of something so stupid.

Anyone else had situations like this where you had no business losing, but you did anyway, and it wasn't because the opponent was good, or you were bad, or because you caught caught in a juggle/stunlock/whatever, but because of something REALLY stupid, like flubbing on something you always do naturally, or just generally something that should not have happened/never happens? It's like momentarily screwing up when tying your shoes, just feel really dumb for messing up something THAT routine.

(aka, like your character suddenly going off in the wrong direction, stupid stuff like that, counts too)

That's what happens when you base your entire gameplay on guessing instead of maximizing damage. Sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't.

Yes, "guessing instead of maximizing damage"....lol, yeah, that must be it. Contrary to all matches I've had, sure, why not. Even excluding there having been absolutely no possible guessing involved in this particular situation here, since it was one move over and over, with no other options to guess between.

But please, stay on topic. I don't want yet another "guessing/yomi/guaranteed/max damage" argument derailing another thread.

Execution is still an important part of fighting games. This is simply an example of you messing up your execution (and your opponent capitalizing). Why you messed it up however is only something you can answer.

I was in a super laggy match against a Kasumi in one of the lobbies using Akira as usual. In the final round when we both had a pixel of health left, the lag telegraphed one of her attacks and I countered it with ease winning the match. Safe to say everyone there was pissed and wanted my head on a spear implanted into the ground. Even I had to admit it was pretty stupid <.<

I was tempted to lock this thread because it has no business doing in the doa5 forums just like the rest of the nonsense that keeps popping up in there. I will let this fly because under all of the fluff in the OP a valid question is being asked:

Sounds a lot like what happened to me. After thinking online, post patch, was bearable, I found myself back in "nothing will come out land". Terrible, laggy, frustrating.... I couldn't even move right half the time...
So here's the "really stupid" reason for my troubles: My stick wasn't properly plugged in. I noticed when I had the same problems in practice, while trying to figure out what my damage was.
