Also, don't get me wrong. Still wish there were some other changes to him. But I am enjoying him more than I did DOA4 and DOA2 by far, and he isn't brain dead easy like DOA3.

I got the game and tried out Bass for a while, and on pick up it looks like you can land super freak afterwards, correct me if I'm wrong. I done it on a dummy though so idk if that differs.

I would've rather prefered DOA3 Bass with harder input. Super Laucnher could've been 63214H+P and air-throw could be the hcf it is now.

But never mind that. I can get used to this Bass too.

You'll get used to it, don't worry. If Bass is your starting character, then it's going to be a bit of an uphill battle, but once you get used to it, it's actually quite rewarding to play him well.

and no one has found Will The Bass Master yet? Come on, thread, I promised you a $5 amazon gift card.

It might be, thanks. I got some good combos down, but unless they don't tech it you won't be able to get the pick up on juggles, which I feel kinda hurts him. He still gets good damage from ground combos, just need to know some of the stuns that are in the game.

Thought I'd add in here, that if you end a juggle with :9::P::K::P:, you can still get the free ground pickup. Unlike ending with :6::K::P:, which was such a saddening nerf to hear about.

Hey UK, that's not the Will you're looking for.

Anyways, doing 66P after his launching throw guarantees pick up and does a few damage points less than 8K 3P H+P though you don't get wall throw. Damage variance increases on hi-counter so it's better to use the 'juggle' on normal throw over hi-counter throw.

Also, the most damaging juggle off of launcher throw against wall is 6K 9PKP.

Okay, so it seems like only :6::K::P: has the nerf, which means that :6::6::P: doesn't seem to have the same attributes. I'd hate to see people actually using :P::P::P: combos in juggles, but that's how low we have sunk to.

6K has a huge hit box and relaunches. I think it was Matt who said that you could do a 6K into 41236H+P H+P. Something like that.

I miss dashing for my big Bass combos.

Well, those videos are really old, but I noticed he's back watching videos on his channel after two whole years.

Speaking of old videos, this makes me want to buy W12 and mess with CAW again. I wonder if it's still good.

and yes, his DOA3 theme still owns.

Personally, I never really use :3::P: is a combo. Maybe as a poke, but not in a combo. Not enough damage.

I wonder if you can do :3::P::+::K: after you trip an opponent now.


Can you guys check and see if air :4::P::P: into grab is possible or not?

In case you missed the patch notes:
PPK
Changed damage reaction on normal hit to stagger​
4P,4PP
Changed stagger on low normal hit to small​
7P+K (when not triggering a Power Blow)
Changed reaction to knock-back on low hi counter and back-turned low hi counter hits​
7PT,3P+KT
Changed damage: 20+43-> 20+35​
Back-turned 6T
Changed damage: 35 -> 50​

Not much here. The 6 throw change was necessary anyway.

Got to talk to shimbori about the game and bass. Some things were brought up.

PK is supposed to be just like 3K as it's a glitch that it isn't.
Suggested making the fireman's carry give free pickup and he liked the idea.
The 6KP juggle nerf was apparently made due to the additional damage from 2K, not to do with 2H+P.

Oh, was that one of those shitty Asus monitors or something? You still ddin't drop a single combo from the grab, but you did drop a few minor combos from 33P.

Glad to know they'd be buffing him a bit in the future. He needed the PK fix.
How much damage does 2K do now? It used to be 12. I just don't understand why they even need to buff the damage on 2K because it was still the most damaging ground attack. Unless it's something like 20 now, then I don't see that to be a good excuse for taking away the 6KP pick-up.

It was a Samsung TV initially set with game mode off and 120Hz with other screen settings like dnr. It was corrected shortly after my match. The juggle is 8k 3p h+p.
