System Benefits and Strategy Behind "Jailing" Strings?

I've heard of strings that "jail" (or force the opponent to block said string and cannot interrupt it) in Tekken games in the past, but I never really delved deeper into the mechanic. Seeing that such strings exist in DOA, I was wondering what are its benefits and how is it incorporated in strategies? I assume it's mostly to frustrate the opponent and that safer jail strings would be good for mixups.

I don't Interupt at all.... for any reason.... deliberately or accidentally. It just doesn't happen when I play.

I'm perfectly content waiting until its my turn. :)

So yeah.... jailing doesn't work on me..... unless if making me block is the intended result then in that case... Jailing Always Works on Me. :)
