I agree, the only thing I don't like about it is the D O A 3 going vertical on the left.
I like all the DOA covers. But I have to say that I wish this old DOA3 promo cover had become official:

Cover is OK, not a huge fan. I was hoping for a simple cover like the one on the CE metal box, but w/e I don't hate it at least.

I like all the DOA covers. But I have to say that I wish this old DOA3 promo cover had become official:
I love the Ayane with the butterfly and the general concept behind the cover but for me the result is not so good, appears me too much random.
Personally I prefer the cover with just Ayane and the Genra' sword of the Japanese version, my favourite in absolute for the feelings transmitted by the look of the character, also if I know that surely is not the most indicated for a fighting game.
My post was a little confusing. To clarify, I have seen that early DOA3 box art. What I hadn't seen was the DOA3 text on the side. I should've clarified my statement by saying I hadn't "noticed" that.

Tina looks amazing on the box art(probably the best IMHO). Someone over at DOAW outlined where Rig's foot is so that it didn't look like a elephant foot anymore, but I agree they should fix that anyway.

I actually don't like that DOA 3 promotional art as far as box designs go. Nothing "jumps out" at you. It has no clear center piece to focus on as Ayane is just too translucent to fulfill that role.
Box art has to look cool, but it also has to entice a complete stranger into checking it out. Jann Lee staring someone down like he's about to jump off the box and beat them over the head with his nunchucks did that.
A bunch of half-invisible characters with none of them particular given any kind of priority, along with an indistinguishable background, does not really accomplish the same effect.

The Box Art lacks "I'm a fighter." lol
I think it's a little blah to be honest. I'm sick of the generic fighting game box with X number of characters thrown together. Someone that isn't already familiar with those characters isn't going to care and they're certainly not going to know what the game is about.
I was hoping for a box art that actually showed like two characters in the middle of a fight, potentially Kasumi and Akira to kind of show off the DOA vs VF guest thing and also show people that this is actually a fighting game. Just a thought.

That sounds pretty cool but i think if they ever did a cross over that would work more.

I agree, put against the main characters of both the series in the cover is an idea more for a crossover game.

Its alright I kinda wish it was alittle lighter and not so dark but overall alright
