Checking Content

Hello all.
Just coming back to this game, or at least trying to.
Thought I'd finally try to get a fix for an old issue that still seems to be prevalent, and which has made me give up on playing the gameon more than a few occasions.
On start up, the game loads and I get to the 'checking content' message. This will either take really long time, like 10 plus minutes, or on some occasions just remain indefinitely.
Xbox One version, disc for main game, all other dlc.
Anyone have a fix for this, any 'optimum install' methods or confirmation that the digital version is more reliable? Is it worth wiping the lot and reinstalling piece by piece?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have the digital version on xbone and the checking content also takes a while for me; about 4 mins at most. It doesnt really bother me though. I recommend having reading material on hand or leave the game to load on its own while you do other things...

Unfortunately there is no fix, it's also only on Xbox One version to my knowledge.

I believe the hanging bug has something to do with DLC none-little dlc takes just a few seconds but if you have a lot it can take 5+ minutes...

Wow, I never heard of that bug (?). But 4-10 minutes is imho really not acceptable anymore. can't believe how compliant you guys are @ "I recommend reading material". XD
Checking DLC data takes like 5 seconds on PS4.

It's only on the Xbox One for whatever dumb reason it doesn't exist on any other platform. Its really weird.

I actually use my kindle to browse this very site while waiting sometimes, that or watch a let's drown out video which I like to listen to as I play anyways. Besides, it takes a few minutes for my xbone to load up anyways (I keep it unplugged when not in use to save energy) so I've found ways to pass the time. Even back when I played PC, I set all my games to borderless window so I can alt-tab to a browser and pass the time

I have very few DLC and usually it takes 2~5 minutes to load. On rare occasions it takes like 30 seconds.

Thanks for the replies, guys.
Sadly, I have all the DLC (the completionist in me), so it takes ages to load, if at all.
Backed up the wait times to even find a game sometimes, with most people playing only in lobbies (more queuing), it really makes DoA hard to pick up and play.

Just out of curiosity, how do the rest of you xbone players pass the time between the loading?

I remember it really sucking on PS3 throughout 5U taking longer and longer as more dlc got released and that definitely didn't get fixed with the LR patch. Then I remember starting up LR on my PS4 the first time and it taking 2 seconds and sitting there like

Probably won't do anything but maybe try getting together and complaining to TN's twitter, it sounds like a real issue.

Have to admit a guilty secret, I have all of the DLC.
I also have the digital version on XBONE and it can take a long time if you start right from the start but because the game is usually pre-loaded it only takes a few minutes instead of 5+. It is certainly an odd issue though and makes me wonder if there is some problem with the way the game is storing the dlc on that platform. Hope they do fix it but I am not holding my breath, it is annoying but it is not game breaking and at this stage I just can't see them allocating the resources to fix the problem.

Since Naotora and the new update came out mine has actually improved in how long it takes, now I only have to wait until halfway through the 2nd message on the scroll bar before game it loaded.

6 months later, and I'm trying again. Digital version this time, saves me changing discs and a few people have said it helps.
Wiped the game from my HDD completely, started fresh.
Full game only install, no extra costumes, boots fine.
Once the DLC is added though, back to ridiculous load times. In fact, since doing this, the game has failed both attempts to load after 20+ minutes.
I posted on DoA's Facebook page out of pure optimism, we'll see if they have any better ideas.

I'm tempted to just wipe it again and only install Nyo's costumes, but that seems like such a colossal waste of money...

Ok, fresh install followed by installing everything in order in no way worked.
Tried to pull my mate back in, arranged to play him and we both meet online. He starts grabbing the update (he hasn't played in a while) while I boot the game.
1 hour later and I still haven't gotten into the game, despite 2 reattempts and a hard reset. We give up on DoA and play Killer Instinct instead.
I don't want to, but I seriously hate this game sometimes.
