Could PS5's Outrageous Size Be a Tournament Standard Problem?

The PS5 is an insane 15 inches tall, and when you consider that fighters travel to tournaments with their systems you can no doubt see that people are going to have problems bringing their own to events this generation. Playstation is often hailed to be the go to for fighting games, and one things that players could enjoy was packing their PS4s in with their luggage that can be taken with them inside the plane.

It will be interesting to see if people are largely unable to pack them in the cabins instead of the belly of the plane where things get tossed like and inspected like a Romanian salad. PCs main problem was portability, but now we have PC AND XBOX SERIES X in a far more powerful position with affordable size and strength. How do you feel about toting around the PS5 to your next event?

TOs used a bunch of huge PC desktops for tournaments for fighting games before which is roughly much bigger or an equivalent size. Team Spooky and Furby are one of them. Other genres too if you want to include them such as Overwatch, Call of Duty, Gears of War etc. all brought giant PCs to tournaments before, which the PS5 shouldn't be the issue when it comes to size. Spooky had a PC that he used as a chair (literally sat on it) while streaming a game he was playing at an event.

The biggest question is it's life span and line of games and support, because the last thing you want is a PS5 dying mid match. Fat PS3s YLOD and Xbox 360 red rings died on the spot in tournaments before.

Yeah and that's cool, the big guys with money will no doubt be bringing in whatever anyway. I just think that within terms of everyone bringing a system - that's going to pipe down with this monster that can play.... old games.
