Interesting news just surfaced. Capcom's holding a character design contest dubbed "Darkstlakers Resurrection: Embrace the Dark". Says here that the grand prize is a copy of the Darkstalkers Tribute book, a statue of Lord Raptor, and finally your character drawn by Stanley "Artgerm" Lau himself!

Obviously I'm entering of course. Good luck to everyone else here who's interested : D
Holy shit. If it's that near-life size authentic Zabel statue, I saw that shit at last year's Anime Weekend Atlanta for like, $1500. Serious business for collectors.

Ghosty-J, I got a tip for you if you're gonna compete. Your best bet is to draw a character befitting for the remaining unrepresented member of one of the three seats of power in the Makai, the Voshtal clan. Given the description of the clan in general, the character has to look intellectual, as they're considered the eldest and wisest of the three Makai clans, though not particularly excelling in physical feats.

I totally would have gone with that. But frankly, I couldn't start before the submissions ended. Which mean I'm left in the dust. I wanted to design a ninja oni too D':

Should be out on PSN today actually. If there's room on my HD, I'll download it right away. But I really can't at the moment out of the risk of my 2-year old nephew screwing with my system while I'm away from it as it downloads <_<

Back from playing for about an hour. I love Darkstalkers, so there's not much to be said. Only problem I have with the game is this awkward audio looping issue the game has. The music tends to slightly pause then continue to loop as normal. This issue being the most noticeable during win quotes. It's a nit-pick, I know, but it gets pretty annoying after a while x_x

It happens sometimes with the in game voices too. I hit Anakaris during curse and I had to listen to him mumble for the rest of the match.

P.S. Hunter has some gameplay issues with Bishamon's Sword and Rikuo's bubbles doing things they can't do in the tournament standard version.

Yeah I saw the bug list on srk. At least it's getting patched out. It just sucks that in the meantime Bish and Fish are even stupider than usual. Capcom really half-assed the Hunter port, but oh well.

Speculation is that they based it on the wrong version (later arcade build).

How on earth did MVC3 Hsienko end up so terrible and opposite of the source material? I can't believe Shitsuma said they made her accurate to her DS counterpart.

I know right? It's such an insult. Regardless, she's still a staple to my Trish/Spencer sub-team. That is if I still played that game : P

This game should be the standard to which other fighting games online are judged. So far, I've yet to have a game that's actually lagged on me.

Apparently because making her stronger would make her broken.

I had it lag on me ONCE. And it was one of the worst things I've ever laid eyes on. GGPO-styled teleportations EVERYWHERE. Everything else was peachy keen after that, but when the lag is bad, it's beyond horrible.

What was the ping?

I've noticed some stuff here and there (character teleporting, moves not coming out, certain moves losing out to stuff that they beat offline, etc.), but I guess it's to be expected since it's online. No matter how good netcode is, it'll never be perfect.

Having said that though, the game has one of the better online modes I've played. It's a hell of a lot better than DOA, that's for sure.

I really haven't touched Vampire Hunter, but I've been playing quite a few Savior matches. Almost all matches (save like 200 ping ones) ran super duper smooth.

I'm so used to using a pad, but I actually switched to a stick after realizing how much easier it was to do LI and the like.
