Not everyone is on the same page. Since returning to the site and reading all of the comments in many of the DOA5 threads, I've determined that there are basically two groups here: There's the group that pretty much wants more of the same, and then there's the group that see drastic changes to the game.

Reading everyone's posts here, you'll easily be able to tell who is in which group.
I'm in one of the two groups, and no one gave me the memo?

I don't remember signing up.

I belong to the latter along with others like Rikuto, Dr Dogg, Sorwah, Raansu, Grap3 just to name a few.

Hey now, I'm more in the group of "I would like to see improvements that still keep the game fun for myself while allowing others to give it another shot." "Drastic changes" just doesn't gel with me in that regard.

I prefer the drastic rollback they did from 4 to 3's engine.

While I don't think he's doing it the right way, he's right. The spamming of stuns in this game needs to die. People need to start thinking, not just fishing for CH because everything stuns then go into Second Stun then CB/Throw M/U or something. Seriously, the only reason this is even happening is because of all these stuns, they don't need to be here in the first place. Go ++, and kill that shit.

But, unfortunately, that's not reasonable to ask THIS far in development. So, we have to work with what we have.
yep... knew i needed to put some more thought into that suggestion but was pressedtime and topics change so damn fast on FSD sometimes lol.
you suggested we slow down free cancels - did you mean slower execution overall,or slower recovery after canceling, making it harder to follow up on stuff. if its the latter then slow escaping becomes an issue for combos that are currently guaranteed. CB and sitdown become harder to link. this is why i still dont think nerfing cancels is a good idea. all it needs is a audio/visual cue imo.

and awsomic, if your not one of the two groups then just start your own lol. i will become a member if you mail me some pancakes

You want to take away all the remaining depth of the game and replace it with juggles?
I think what you mean is I want the game to actually have some depth and not just focus on titties. Also robots and kangaroos would be good.

And there's then people like me who actually belong in both groups at the same time, it just depends on what's actually being discussed. Which is why I try to play mediator too much. =P

I mean the second, slower recovery after canceling.

No it doesn't. Increase slow escape minimum time starting by a value equal to the value that free canceling is delayed by. Done.

This late in development, I would be very surprised to see anything changed to string delay and free-canceling.

That's why Blackula gave the qualifier that there are "basically" two groups.

Really? So the depth of a fighting game starts once the opponent is launched? I see...
Well, in DOA4/Dimensions, that's basically true since you're only guaranteed hits once your opponent is in the air.

we should name the groups. samefags and newfags seem appropriate. and if you are both you're just a fag. and if you are neither then you are still a fag
