Do You have Your Tag-Partner Ready?

Hoi, I just came over this article and it states that DoA5U allows 4 player 2v2 (all at 4 different platforms).

Anyone know if this is ranked (like playstation allstars, smash, etc.) or if it is lobby only?
Either way, what do you think will be the stronger tag combos, and do you have your partner ready for this?
