Also, I would prefer 26 episodes. That's more than enough to cover expanded backstories on some otherwise underdeveloped characters.

Meh. It would just be starring the ninjas, and only cameo the rest of the cast if we were lucky. I'll pass.

A standalone OVA would've made for a neat LE bonus. Even better if it was canon and expanded on the backstories of the new characters, filled in what happened during the timeskip, or showed story mode events from a different characters perspective.

Although an XBV fanservice beach trip probably would've been more likely.

I'm honestly kinda surprised an anime or official manga hasn't happened yet.

I agree, but I would like to see all characters featured, like @Argentus said, I wouldn't want it to be super ninja heavy.

I think I would prefer a OAV like the 94 Street Fighter (still one of the best animated movies of all time IMHO).
