IDK. A realistic fighting game would be pretty cool. It's gunna happen when VR is a thing. I hope they do another Sleeping Dogs that's not a PC MMO.

I think in a realistic fighting game, you'd try to punch someone and they'd break your arm...... then you can't fight as that character for 10 weeks while they recover from the injury because of realism..... actually I'm not even sure if its 10 Weeks, I've never broken a single bone in my life... but you get the idea, at what point will a game gave too much realism and still be a good game ?

GREAT points. THIS is why realism does not belong in fighting games. It just wouldn't work mechanically.

No one asked for a sim. It would still be a GAME. Just nothing you don't see irl like fireballs, teleporting, throwing people across the fucking room, and smashing them so hard against the ground they bounce 5 feet in the air. Juggles probably wouldn't be in there either, but there would probably still be combos.

That sounds fair... obviously I was going for an extreme case. :p
Ofcourse theres still a few minor kinks that need to be reworked.... realistically, the best time to grab someone is right after you stun them with a hit, but in several games you can't grab a stunned opponent. Thats just one tiny example, maybe to make it interesting they'l make throws both breakable and techable.

Gonna have to stop you right there. Realism in fighting games would be boring as fuck. The only fighting game series to do this at all was UFC and while it does sell, how many critics can HONESTLY like the game? Too much realism is too boring. It's nice to have fighting styles BASED on real fighting styles, but copying EVERYTHING from said fighting styles would just be uninspired and boring, and the game would NOT sell at all. After all, they're fighting GAMES. Not fighting SIMULATORS.
