DOA Characters' Story Lines

Can someone please explain to me, or point me in the right direction, as far as how all the characters of DOA tie together? what are their connections? Pasts? I have been out of the loop for a long time, and so I need to make sure I'm reading the real stuff, and not some crap story someone has made up about them. Thanks. :]

Chronicles mode covered one side of the story, and whenever people want to add to the wiki it will contain story as well.

However, quick run down:
Raidou and Shiden are brothers of the Mugen Tenshin clan
Hayate is brother to Kasumi and half-brother to Ayane
Raidou is father to Ayane, Shiden father to Hayate and Kasumi, Ayame being the mother to all three

It is rumored (don't know if DOAD brought this up) that Hayate died in his fight against Raidou, causing Kasumi to pose revenge, but a clone of him was created by DOATEC called "Ein" or "One" who then fled.

Hitomi took care of "Ein" as he trained in Karate in Germany after fleeing from DOATEC, and later found he was the leader of the Mugen-tenshin clan.

Hayabusa comes from the Ninja Gaiden franchise and is married to Aileen - a US Agent from the same series
Hayabusa also runs a curio shop of which Zack is his best customer ;)

Bass (Pronounced like the fish) is father to Tina, mother is deceased

Helena (pronounced "Elena") is daughter to Fame Douglas, the owner of DOATEC who hosted the first event and was assassinated by Bayman at the end of the first event. Fame had numerous mistresses, resulting in Kokoro and Helena being half-sisters. Bayman was hired by Victor Donovan, a scientist for DOATEC who wanted to take control. Christie was an assassin who was sent to kill Helena/Helena's mother.

Aaahh. good stuff. thanks so much for that info! some stuff I knew, and some stuff I didn't...like Ryu being married and all that....I had no idea.. still I've only just started the Ninja Gaiden series. so i've yet to uncover all of that. awesome. I always thought that aside from him swearing to protect Kasumi, that they might have had a "thing" between them. But thanks for clearing that up! :]

Yeah, when i said "Ninja Gaiden" series, i meant the NES games.

Aileen makes an appearance in DOAD though.

Hayabusa was looking after Kasumi due to a promise he had with Hayate. Since Hayabusa is not part of the Mugen Tenshin clan he is not held by law to kill Kasumi for her betrayal to her clan.

Ooh! okay then what is the NES games? I did know about the promise to Hayate, because Ryu and he are practically best friends right?

Yeah, and the NES games were for the Nintendo Entertainment System. More information (which should be in our wiki should anyone want to add the information) can be located on Wikipedia.

I thought Hayate was paralyized during his fight with Raidou, thus Kasumi sets out revenge on him. While she's away at DOA1, Hayate is captured by DOATEC and taken to be put in Project Epsilion. But I don't recall him being cloned, just him getting temperary amnesia. I mean, there's no mention of anyone saying about Hayate being alive or a clone of him. Plus he even sits infront of Shiden who doesn't mention anything about him being a clone. lol!

Yes, originally that was the assumption, especially with the doa2u CG. DoAD chronicle mode though, Kasumi says that Hayate is dead...but they use DoA2U's CG. I know, makes no sense, but then again, neither did chronicle mode lol. I think they tried to hard to bring the story together and thus kinda messed it up.

Helena is pronounced "Hel-EE-nuh?" Dang. I've been saying "HEL-uh-nuh" for like 11 years haha.

It's pronounced with the silent H. It's based on the french. Basically say it like Elena. Eh. Leh. Na.

Yeah because DOAD seem to change alot about the lore, I don't know if I should even ad it to the iki. A lot of it adds more question than answers.

Im pretty sure that "Hayate is dead" is basically just an assumption on Kasumi's part since he wasn't exactly in super healthy condition when she left (which was almost immediatly).
Epsilon was supposed to be the ATTEMPT to clone Hayate, and the reason they called it a failure is because they could not.

Furthermore, why would they keep the body in a bed for as long as they did if he was actually dead? By the time the first tournament was over you'd think they would've put him to rest.

Also doubtful they would simply hand over leadership of the clan to a clone.

Christie is tied to the story because she works for Victor Donovan and is ordered to kill all ties to Fame Douglas along with Bayman. While Bayman killed Fame, Christie killed Maria, Helena's mother.

Since there's no recollection of her past before that so far, I'll assume that when she's not on a mission, she works me in bed.

I'm curious to see how the story continues in DOA5. In Helena's DOA4 ending, Alpha 151 escapes after fighting Kasumi, Donovan looked like he was killed by Ryu's Ninpo, and Zack rescues Helena from the burning Tri-Tower after she activated self-destruct. So it leaves a lot of questions for me. Did Donovan survive? Where did Alpha 151 go? Does Helena keep DOATEC in business? Does Kasumi finally reunite with Hayate and return to the village? I also wonder what kind of boss we'll be seeing next.

This whole "I'm a fighter" slogan they're throwing around... I wonder if it serves as a central resolve for Kokoro's future role in the DOA series, seeing as she is technically connected to Helena.

i don't know why it would be more connected to kokoro.... its most likely just for all the fighters in doa, or kasumi since she is protagonist of the main story line (and I'm not saying it because i love her, but most game sites say she is, and well she is). she has always been on the defense about fighting other when fighting raidou, alpha, helena, and alpha152, so maybe this doa will show a more aggressive kasumi since Ninja Gaiden is showing a more human Ryu
