Nope, Tina is the promiscuous, busty, blonde American that once in a while throws around meaningless English phrases. That's a thing in many anime, manga or games.
Barbie isn't that of a pop culture icon over there.

I'm correcting you. Tina is not that. Tina is barbie.

Blonde American that is successful at any career she attempts to and is never satisfied with one.

Barbie is shook to her core.

I'm mostly excited for stages to see if it'll top DOA5's stages.

(changes vote to 'full speed ahead' for the gigglez)

Yeah I liked the stages in doa5 and then it got better when ultimate brought more colourful open stages, The free stages were great too. I'm excited for whatever doa6 does.

In the West Barbie is a role model for little girls. Tina is far, very faaar from being a rolemodel. Especially in Japan. Japan does not idolize the kind of woman Tina portraits...like at all. (That would be rather Kokoro, or Momiji, the typical yamato nadeshiko) Tina is a vapid, blonde sexdoll, she's also loud and American. And that is a very often recurring trope in Japanese anime, manga and games. Barbie is not, because Barbie is irrelevant in Japanese pop culture.

Let's not forget that Tina was made in Itagaki era, and that Itagaki loves the west, to begin with.

And, then again, i'm not saying it is on purpose, Tina is just Barbie, wrestler, then model, then actress, then rockstar, and now on to become governor.

Tina wasn't even blonde back then, but brunette and she debuted as a pro-wrestler.

She's SO far away from Barbie or what Barbie represents as you can possibly get.
And once again, in Japan Barbie is irrelevant, because little Japanese girls look very different, play with different toys, watch different shows and are tought different values.

I swear I read something that Itagaki wanted to make Tina blonde from the start but the system couldn't handle the blonde hair colour or something??? it was somewhere in the casual thread back when i was a ghoster.

I still like to think Tina has the unlucky blonde syndrome(which I, sadly and almost my whole family has). Naturally blonde, but it gradually got brown as she got older, then she re-dyed it blonde. would make sense with her being a blonde kid lol, but then again i've seen really young kids with dyed hair, i don't know how to feel about it.

For DOA6 all the girls and guys should have their original styles available again, that means make Kasumi's hair as long and thick and bright as it used to be XD if they used the Dissidia FF look they could do nice hair and good textures, and colors could be brighter and less grungy like DOA5 has in it's art style, and do away with the see through hair effect...

They also need to bring back the guy's unique builds from DOA4 so they don't all share the same body anymore, and PLEASE bring back classic hit sound effects. I preferred the more comical over the top jab and bone snap and break sounds from DOA4 and Dimensions

yes, ginger ninja Kasumi has been missed xD the hair could do with improving. but doa4's hair physics did get annoying at times like when the hair flew all over the place.
I like doa5's grungy style.
and to stay on-topic, I'd love a bigger difference in body shapes for the whole cast. like, so newcomers can tell the difference between bayman, rig and leon so I don't have to correct my friends constantly. or my friends are blind idk
oh, and I also had a friend who thought Mila was a cross-dressing male for some reason. I had to show a bikini costume xD

Why would they reuse Dissidia's art style? It is much more anime-stylized than the current DOA look. It's a good middleground for all Final Fantasies (the very anime like and the more realistic ones) to come together under one stylistic roof.
I highly doubt they would go back to a more anime-inspired look for DOA though. If we look at Nioh, and I think that game is the best indicator for how DOA6 is going to look like, they will be actually going for more realism, also to make some use of the current consoles' power.
Kasumi, Ayane, Hayate and others might for the first time actually look Asian and others Western, like the characters do in Nioh.

Regarding the hair, it looks actually quite good in Nioh. High polygon and very detailed, even with some stray strands here and there.

Yeah they really need to add variation, all the guys share the same base body just resized in some areas which I think is weak imo, girls are a bit more varied but only just enough besides face and hair and stuff, for DOA6 I want them to make kasumi have more leg focus and keep the same slim figure with her gorgeous back arch and added ASSets from X3, besides her somewhat strange looking smile sometimes seen in the game i like her more thiccer figure in that game. And yeah DOA4 hair imo didn't look good blowing in the wind but it did look amazing going over the shoulder and draping behind the shoulder, Kasumi even tucked her side strands behind her ears which made her fringe much more prominent than say Leifang

I also hope they make her ninja dresses look less bulky, in DOA4 they fit her well but in DOA5 they don't really, her second one looks like she didn't wash it the right way or got it a size or two too big. And I would be so happy if they returned her hair to her brighter more vivid color over this boring natural reddish brown:

Her ponytail and hair color I mean are fine now but they could improve those in DOA6 to make her look more like her original iconic self

YES! I want this so much, The characters in Nioh are gorgeous. I haven't played the game so I don't know her name but the Japanese woman at the top there is so beautiful and like you said I really like how she has realistic Asian features and I love the realistic look they went for with Nioh so If they went that direction with doa6 I would be completely happy.

Lol I'm getting so hyped now for a doa6 reveal! XD I really hope there is one at TGS!

I honestly think this what DOA6 might lean towards when it comes to quality.
