DOA5 E3 Version Q&A

That's why I couldn't figure it out. The Arcade screen showed the power blow inputs but not the versus. I kept trying all forms of inputs with :P::+::K: but couldn't get it to come out. That would be cool if it acted a like a sabaki PB.
Oh...I'm not saying that :236::P: is the input for her PB(I have no clue what it is, I'm just basing this off of what I've seen through the trailer)...I was just pointing out that the animation(the looks) looked exactly like a "charged" version of :236::P:(from DOA4) and that it would be really cool if her PB acted as a Sabaki like :236::P: did in DOA4. :D

This just occurred to me, and is actually a question regarding the IPL events, themselves, moreso than the E3 build of the game.

As these events progress, will they feature more updated builds of the game month-to-month, or will they all just feature the E3 build?

DrDogg stated that there are several builds of DOA5 with various changes. The one for the E3 Tournament play didn't have Bass and or Sarah, but the one behind close doors did. So it's safe to say we'll see other builds in the coming months.

How many new moves and animations are characters going to individualy get? I didn't see that many new ones in this version. Probably because people kept playing DOA4.

That's exactly the point, most people didn't know character's new moves while others hardly knew any. From Bayman, Ayane, Kasumi, and Tina I saw a host of them and a couple brought back from DOA2/DOA3. Also keep in mind that a lot of the older moves have new properties making them fresh all over again.

Just my 2 cents.

im on my phone and typing is a fuckin pain but ill say this for now. bass has a ton of potential and lots of sitdown stuns. 3k still works, as does 1p. but hes hardly been changed right now so who knows how he will be later. secondly, yes it "it did seem you had to be below 50 percent with your tagged in character for tag powerblow.

Cool, so it's best to use "Tag Power Blows" for quick damage switch outs?

Don't play much tag, but will there still be free tag attacks after gaurd break?

My bad for not being Dogg or Rikuto, but it's safe to say you'll able to get free attacks after Guard Breaks. Like in DOA4, Brad Wong has a :236::P: that Guard Breaks the opponent but Wong himself can't gain any advantage thus making it useful primarily for a free attack via switch out.

1) Is Leifang's combo throw an OH like in DOAD¿
2) Does Sarah use the stance she has in VF¿
3) Are the online modes still there¿ (winner stays, kumite, etc)
4) Is Christie's "bokuho" fixed¿
5) Does Kasumi still have double wake-up kicks (I didn't notice in the stream)
6) Is Akira as hard to use as in VF¿
7) Are wake-up kicks punishable on block¿
8) When are we getting Jann Lee and Helena¿

1) ??
2) Yes. Rikuto and DrDogg mentioned on stream that Sarah has a 5 frame :K: in this stance that gives advantage and were mind blown by it.
3) I don't believe any sort of online mode was available in the E3 builds.
4) ??
5) Yes. Kayane used them during her matches a few times.
6) Yes.
7) Yes.
8) I don't believe that's information DrDogg would have access to.

DrDogg specifically mentioned at the start of the thread that he only wants questions regarding the E3 builds of DOA5. I'm sure even if he knew when everyone's favorite character was going to be revealed, he wouldn't be able to tell us. Please try to stay on topic and ask questions only regarding the E3 build.

Wouldn't that statement apply to any character? Haha, what a weird thing to say. What was the context of that?

DrDogg was asking him if she would be top tier and he was told that her ability to win would rely on the player. I'm assuming it's his way of saying she'll be an advanced character and the player would need to know more to win with her.

Series wise she's usually been bottom tier, and only in DOA4 was she given tools to dominate. So it's going to be interesting to see how they'll approach her this game.

The director did mention that if Helena were in the game her ability to win would be up to the players ability.

Wow really? that is a weird thing to say, She better be in the game!!!

She has always been my main since I started playing DOA U

All DOA4 characters except "Ein, Tengu, and Spatan" will be in the game, the Director saying "if" Helena was in the game is hilarious at best, plus he basically hinted on her inclusion within that very statement...

That is indeed true definitely with DOA5's more refined system mechanics, but one would have to agree that Helena was always one of the harder to hardest characters to master.

You know you could've just edit your post from 8 minutes ago and put this new post in it.

I most definitely concur, I was multitasking within in that time frame so if shouldn't hurt anyone too much, although I can prevent such issue from happening again in the future.
