I might be wrong but doesn't Tekken release a game about every year? Maybe it's the idea of not wanting to pay big cash for almost the same game year after year.
Kinda like FIFA but less brainwashed people? Just a theory.
They feelin a little salty.....They think because they released the same Tekken game in and out, with more FREE content, that the game is god, with that same broken ass juggle fest system? Pfffftttwwaaahahahahahaha! TOO FUNNY!
The last games that was the best, was every Tekken before 6 lol.

Japan is just too awesome for showing big time love & attention to fighting games. :)
This is very good news for TN since the DOA series is not that popular.

We technically haven't had a new Tekken since 2010.

I was thinking Tekken 6 came around 2008 or something. Namco hardly releases any Tekken games since Harada works extremely hard on them. Now Street Fighter on the other hand, it's gone totally mainstreeeeeaaammmm~.

I'm very glad to hear that, I hope the US sales are similar in the way that they beat Tekken, if only to put bitter fanboys in their place. But I don't really care because we can all coexist.

Technically, aside from the Super update back in 2010, all the game has gotten is revision patches and DLC. Only reason you can get AE on disc is so that new folks don't have to double dip and buy SSFIV and then the AE DLC.

I wouldn't expect DOA5 to outsell TTT2 in the upcoming NPD sales charts for the US. It will cover the month of September, which means that it will have 3 weeks of sales compared to less than 1 week for DOA5.

Yea at the moment i dont really care for power blows but thats also because i havent spent much time learning to use them.
Female Tengu? Man im so glad we didnt get bikinis for that character and could you imagine the tina bikin on a female tengu.

Lol ultras as in people that are fanatic about something. Sorry was a football(Soccer) term. xD

Edit: Should have just said fanboys.

Eh i dont mind fanboys as long as they contribute to sales. No fighting game is perfect not even my beloved VF5FS but its still far to early to find substantial flaws with a game thats only been out about a week. Especially one that so damn fun to play. I agree with some of the statements but have to disagree with others about changes that could/should be made to the game.

5k? Holy lol. I know 360 isnt popular in Japan, but thats SOOO small
Tekken has and always will be a part of the PlayStation family brand first despite Microsoft's efforts (including that Comic Con party). Ironic how they had not done one for DOA5. Basically it was "oh look at this PlayStation game we got here. We're the new PlayStation right?" Nope. Still a fraud one. Numbers don't lie. I expect DOA5 to outsell TTT2 Overseas (here) as well. Recall that Dead or Alive 3 outsold all three versions of Soul Calibur II combined. If Tekken were still a PlayStation exclusive and the PS3's numbers were at around 85-90 million then yeah. Lifetime sales is what I'm looking for.

Doubt it will have sold huge in the EU, as it was released the same day as Fifa 13 which sold insane numbers day one.

But we will see, i bought it over Fifa :)

People need to realize Tekken culture in Japan. It is an arcade game, and in Japan they live for arcades. Like some people have mentioned the fact that it even sold that many on CONSOLE is surprising. Not hating, but wait for the US sales before rejoicing.
