Anybody from FSD going? I'll be there along with a couple of other folks some of the more tenured DoA community people will know. If you'll be there, sound off with where you're staying at and what you're playing. I'm not too sure that a lot of people from the DoA community will be going, but there's a pretty significant overlap nowadays I think.

I applied to be a judge myself. I don't think they get back to people until registration closes.

A big part of it is just experiencing it. I would just go anyway if it's financially feasible. This will be my first Evo but I'm anticipating a lot of fun.

Nice. Maybe we'll end up fighting in SCV. I'm playing that, SFxT, and UMvC3.

I wish I could play well enough in something to go and compete.

You're not going to get better with an attitude like that.

I'll be going, I usually go every year. I'll be entering in SCV and KoFXIII as far as official tournaments go. I'll be playing TTT2, VF5FS, and Skullgirls in side tournaments.

Anybody from here that's going to Evo still not have a place to stay? I MAY have extra space in my room. I'm staying in a suite in Octavius Tower right at the venue (Caesar's Palace). The room is absolutely massive so four people will comfortably sleep in there. If you want to stay it'd be split evenly between four people and the room cost to me is roughly $1,680 ($1,506+12% hotel tax in Vegas). I'd need both confirmation that you're going and cash upon arrival, not checkout. Helps if I know you as well. Cost goes up if you want your own room key, though, as I'll get hit for an extra $30 per night if I tell them I have more than two people in the room.

PM me if you're interested and we'll chat.

If you have the means, definitely go just for the experience. Whether playing well, poorly, or not at all; major fighting game events are about the atmosphere and the people. You'd get a lot out of it I reckon. Much encouragement to anyone who can make it.

Maybe I'll get to go to the US at the right time for EVO one year... if they keep it close to Comic Con it's sure to happen.

would be cool, but I doubt it. The way TN was been they don't want high lev play to be shown to the public for some reason. With that many DOA vets in the building there be no way to stop them lol

I didn't think he would know but I asked the TK EU community manager if he knew about any Team Ninja plans for Evo since he's easy to get a hold of via Twitter. Not surprisingly the EU CM wouldn't know about any plans for a US event but he did forward along the Evo idea to Team Ninja. Though, I have to think that Team Ninja would have to be aware of Evo already but are probably not interested in bringing anything there. They are under a tight schedule with this game it seems. Granted, there's your largest sampling of your target audience, why wouldn't you want to bring your latest build there to get some free exposure and feedback? It'd be nice if they could take the E3 build there for that reason, since most of the people getting their hands on it at E3 are going to be press, who know squat about fighting games in general.
