I have nothing aginst DOA4 or DOA5, nor am I trying to scare anyone away from the game.
I wasn't trying to "scare" anyone from the game. I was merely giving them realistic impressions of the game and letting them know that they shouldn't expect a fighter as deep as any others.

Can you really blame Helena players? No one else got nerfed anywhere near as bad as Helena.

Yes. Yes, I can. In SCV, I was a Leixia player. I feel their pain, but it could be a hell of a lot worse. In fact, with the limited Helena footage, I'm not even convince it's that bad, since they tried to make her an advanced character to begin with.

I was on that same page, but when someone who's tested and played the game and also happens to main said character reassures everyone that she's bad, I think you should be able to come to the conclusion that she's pretty bad.

Exactly. The videos are irrelevant. Helena players have every right to be as pissed as they are.

That's...true. I forgot that person does main that character.

Yeah..but that doesn't really do anything good for DoA's situation..
Gotta sugarcoat the negatives for those people who are 50/50 about the game.
We need this game to sell as much as possible..because if DoA 5 fails..then we can be damn sure that the franchise will die.

Then lie to people with the sugarcoating into buying something they might not like in the end? That doesn't sound fair either.

Sugarcoating isn't really lying.. it's just making something not sound as bad as it really is.
So basically making a half lie pretty much. Sorry but I can't sugarcoat things I feel like I'm lying or hiding part of the truth about something. I rather let the game sell because of its pros and not because of sugarcoating things that will probably generate more negative feedback than actual positive one. Let people decide with the truth without sugar coating things. If people are still interested after the things are said cool but sugarcoating things is pretty much hiding or making something look more appealing than it really is.

Paint shit gold but it wont change the fact that its still shit (Analogy not really calling DOA5 crap since it looks far from it either with some of the negative stuff I have with the game.)

Hope my broken english doesnt get misunderstood here ( I like making shorter responses usually but I think it was needed)

Well.. complete honesty may very well be the best policy.. but it's also the one that hurts the most.

The game can sell millions but if the game gets negative feedback the innevitable will come to the next game so really in the end you might be doing more damage to the product by selling something with little white lies or sugarcoating.

People who were lured by false or half true statements will ignore the sequel leaving it with less sales. Some games have seen those drops before and it have gotten games to cut budgets and others get shelved. So its better to keep it realistic as it is and let it sell on its own merits.

Broken English? Where are you from? You're English has yet to look bad.

Puerto Rico. I can talk and write English but I know my grammar and pronunciation is far from being natural. Punctuations, organization and the uses of some words or phrasing could be better placed but then again this isnt college where everything needs to be completely neat I guess. :p

Everyone's grammar could always stand to be better, but your grammar looks fine. You even used a comma in this quote. You don't always see commas on the internet.

lol sometimes I wonder if people from other countries, etc.. purposely say stuff, "Sorry, if my English isn't good." or something along those lines, to get compliments, when they know their English is sometimes even better than people who speak it as their native language.

I'VE GOT MY EYE'S PEELED PUPI18!!! I'm outside your window watching you! muahahaha lol jking that's kinda creepy. :Bradwong:

Lol I just give the warning since there might be some misunderstandings with my writing (it has happened before)

And you can creep all you want I'll see you as a fan. I might even let you get a little sneak peek every once in a while. (BTW are you levitating on my window or what since I'm on the second floor. LOL)

I agree with you.
My post may have come off as dishonest but the logic behind my reasoning is because of situations that I've been in where people wouldn't give something a chance anymore just because of some negative thing they heard.

One example would be when FFXIII came out.. non of my friends would even touch it because of all the negative feedback. I was having second thoughts about buying it too..but the JRPG fan in me took over so I decided to buy it.
In the end I really enjoyed it. Sure it wasn't up to the quality of its predecessors but it was still a good 100+ hours for me. I was glad I didn't take the negativity seriously otherwise I would have denied myself an entertaining experience.

Anyway, the point I was trying to make is that..some people take negative feedback too seriously and end up denying themselves an experience they might have otherwise enjoyed if they had given it a chance.
